Neb, are you a Chiefs’ fan? They got Alex Smith today.
I was when I was younger, but over the years they’ve really had problems building a consistent team. I’ve seen a few games at Arrowhead Stadium, great venue, especially the tailgating. My friends and I have a running joke about them we call them “Chump City,” also “It is the place where good quarterbacks go to die.”
I really liked that they brought in Andy Reid, Reid is a good coach, the team has talent, if it can be polished up and motivated they could be a decent team next year, still behind the Broncos, but since the Chargers are in a state of emergency with management and the Raiders, well they’re the Raiders, KC should have a somewhat decent season.
Good for Alex Smith, he will be worshiped if he can bring that team success.
The Chiefs have had a LOT of former 49er quarterbacks. Steve DeBerg, Joe Montana, Elvis Grbac, Steve Bono.
I’m happy for him. Andy Reid is a good offensive coach. Alex just needs a good offensive line because he takes a lot of sacks … which is one of the reasons the 49ers went to Kaepernick.
Plus, I happen to know Alex has a very good friend who lives in east Kansas (near Joplin), so he knows people there.
Being in KC will help him a lot because it isn’t as bad as S.F. considering the media attention. Oh! I almost forgot, here is a quote that my dad and now all of us use about the Chiefs- “Never underestimate the futility of the Kansas City Chiefs.” We always say that when watching them if they are leading in the game, most of the time after it has been said the Chiefs blow the lead and lose the game.
Kansas is so damn flat, you could drive for hours across that state and feel that you’ve never went up or down.
Back in from my deconstruction and repairing my shire. I’m less interested in making the desk into a flower cart, and just having a nuetral raised base, I may just wrap it with the black nylon fabric, which I can always faux paint. I have a child’s size hula-hoop I could cover with the nylon and faux paint a wagon wheel on it. I’m better at painting and gardening than I am building and carpentry.
The two wrought iron ends of a broken park bench instead of making the flower cart handle, I think will flank either side of the large pot the single hobbit house sits on. If nothing else they are decorative looking just leaning against a fence.
My drill makes the construction SO MUCH EASIER. Gina has NOT been happy about ne outside so long without her, she is plasterd against my thigh.
Those drawer fronts with the medevial looking KNOCKER handles, are really cheaply made, stapled together from the back. For all their visual weight, there’s nothing to them.
The birds will love you BinB.
I should get photos of our flickers.
You should make a DVD of the creation of your project and have it as an Extra feature to the finished product!
I told Beau he can film the You Tube videos, talking like the Canadian Hobbitsie guy…eh
It stayed pleasant and sunny, but then got windier this afternoon. I worked in just a t-shirt and khacki pants.
We’re spitting snow here.
I would gladly trade you my weather for yours.
I lived 50 years in the frozen tundra of Minnesota, I know exactly how harsh februrary can be, St Patrick’s Day was one of the worst blizzards when I was a kid, 3 ft in 2 days. We had awful long below freezing for 40 days, in one of my last winters up North…I wanted to slit my wrists ….with the grain.
It has been so tame though up here when it comes to winter, when I was younger it would get a lot worse, but it seems that for the past 15 years that when it snows heavy, a few days later most of it will be melted because the temperature rises. Its the wind that is really the danger now, that cold wind can make it so much worse than having snow fall.
I don’t mind winter other than the gloomy skies.
I more hate the heat now.
Plus winter gives me an excuse to wear boots! 🙂
Do you not have sling back boots for the summer?
Too warm for boots. I have a couple pair of cowboy boots.
… that I’ll wear in the summer, if it’s not too hot.
Hello, Fi. You made me laugh when you posted it’s pudding time! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkS11FsA2cs
Really, I don’t make puds every day, and we don’t eat them straight after our main meal, just at some point in the evening, usually sat watching TV, today was strawberry’ and Almond crumble, yummy, there is some left for tomorrow as well.
All ok there?
Yes. Going out in a bit.
That sounds yummy.
“Pudding Time” is a song.
here’s today pics a fake scrabble tile, a pot of petunias, the rebuilt shire.
beau’s hanging basket of succulents, and the magnolia pods he spray painted.
Your little Shire is taking shape!
You’re making me feel guilty about not doing any gardening yet…
start some seeds in a pot
and look through online seed and plant catalogs
It feels like I might have gotten a little sunburnt on my face. I’m getting anxious to mow down my hair to a crew cut, it’s about 2 inches long now.
If you see mishima here don’t stomp his ass, I want to see if we can clear things out. The poor chap is raging on back threads poor lost conservatives, they never get love at home so they grow up to be most unpleasant.
Aye, aye el capitano!
News man, news have you any?
Slow day, Lew was approved, US is giving direct aid to Syrian rebels.
come on we have a long history of doing that and we all know how well it works.
I can’t imagine anything more PATHETIC than secretly stashing comments on previous threads, Have some DIGNITY, and self worth…J-E-S-U-S!
directionally challenged? he wanted to get HH and cpad’s attention.
Pfffttt – he just wants to be able to unload his vitriol without getting tossed off Current. What a coward.
Guy is actually a Ph.D. and he’s behaving like a 10-year-old throwing a tantrum.
,,,and I am Marie of Romania.
((((sigh)))) I’ve already been over this with him. If he wants the favor of my attention, he can get in line with all the rest of my admirers, and he’d better bring a very nice present.
Hey there, my cyber bestie!
How is your day going?
It’s going well. We had a nice dinner out today.
I know… 😆
It’s SO pathetic.
He’s pissed off because he got booted from Alternet and RawStory for acting like a douche and is on timeout on Current.com.
Is he still going…?
Not at the moment.
Beatles- Eleanor Rigby
😀 Hiya, Boy!
Corn floating in your toilet bowl!
That’s kind of a head scratcher.
It’s Nebraska… 😉
Hiya, Copper and neb!
We are listening to Lardini’s final basketball game.

Sometimes, I’d listen to him in SL.

Police Chief Embarrasses Lindsay Graham at Gun Hearing:

LOLZ! Hiya, Orcas!
Good evening, Kitteh! I can’t stand that man. Seriously.
Neither can I.
As though Lindsey needed any help embarrassing himself…
Hi termgirl 🙂
So, I’m teaching myself Phil Collin’s “Groovy Kind of Love” on my toy piano.
Somebody buy me this Nord Stage 2 Piano Synthesizer…iz only $4600 with a sustain/damping pedal. 🙂
As soon as I find that winning lotto ticket, you’ve got it! 🙂
Awesome – is it all starting to come back to you?
Trying to remember a few little rules my piano teacher told me 100 years ago 🙂
I do have to practice piano a bit then go to the gym. See ya later tonight!!

I can see what you like about it!
See ya. Orcas.
Later!! Prolly around 9:00pm PST
I have a new obsession.
In typical fashion, I am doing research and learning as much as I can about Vertical Gardening….
and, as usual, I will probably never put what I have learned into practical application.
Some of the “garden walls” are just incredible.
I really like this “soda pop” garden wall.
Very cool! We’ve trained several living “sculptures” on our fences using Virginia Creeper, Mandarin Honeysuckle, perenniel “sweet pea” and clematis. They’re NOTHING like those, though.
I love climbers. Honeysuckle is wonderful.
Hi pretty kitty!
What’s for supper tonight?
We’re having leftovers today.
Hi, cpad! I’m just figuring it out – something with fish.
What kind of fish?
A couple of little tilapia fillets – think I’m going with panko crumbs and spices and saute’ them.
That sounds perfect.
I can’t see how that would work unless you also had a continual-drip irrigation system piped into each bottle. Those would dry out in an hour in my yard.
I know they have drip systems for many of the vertical “walls.”
I’m not sure how it would with these soda pop containers.
Those photos you posted were amazing.
I’m trying to find a link for these garden walls in Hawaii. (Should have bookmarked it.) They are just beautiful.
That would keep the deer out
I’m working on planting through zip lock bags. Years ago when I ws getting interested in gardening I made a tripod (like an easel, one side I used a piece of plywood covered with black plastic, with dirt in it, I also made a rope lattce across it doe strength, then I’d make small slits, I could insert a plant’s roots. I think I grew mostly leaf lettuce in it, and it worked great. Another side faced east north had shelves and tender potted plants like primroses and gloxinias which liked bright indirect light grew.
doe was supposed to be for…I’m bleary eyed from crashing earlier.

Hello, buddy. I see above that you felt better today, I hope that continues.

We made taxes and payroll this week, so I am a happy snoskier. My neck and back are feeling better, but still giving me problems. Getting older sucks!
