Anybody hear from BassFace?
Nope–he must be on the road with little internet access. Maybe he is shacking up with a few playmates who knows.
Not for a while… 😦
So I have a lamb chop left but given all the work it takes to prepare it I wonder if I should bother.
I read your story. No more lamb shoulder chops for me, can’t remember if I’ve ever cooked them actually. Just rack of lamb, chops and shanks.
I’ll try working with fish for a bit as I don’t have it on the repertoire yet.
I used to broil salmon in the oven but it always came out too dry. So now I put it in a pan with some lemon, butter and seasonings and cover it with aluminum foil. Comes out much more tender and not all dried up.
Nice, I’ll give that a try soon.
I’m fond of steaming or poaching fish. Or lightly sautee’ing them.
I always screw it up.
You have to stand there and watch it – fishies should be barely cooked or they get really dry.
I;m ready for Easter! 😀
Me likey! Hey, there is an egg person behind you!
Haruko IS a bunny. It’s really cute when one of her ears gets torn off. http://file018.bebo.com/6/large/2006/09/14/16/19436235a2024230482b630181669l.jpg
Here it is. http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbt7bnNKFx1rpwwsko1_500.jpg
And the havoc played on your nylons. 😉
My eyes! it’s like watching my little sister ( if I had one ) in that get-up.
This is TAME for SL!
Greetings! Great post up above, Jack.
Hi Nebdem. Playing with some free music software I downloaded from a site in Australia.
Three packages so far. One for capturing an audio stream, like YouTube into a sound file (WAV, etc.). Then a second package to import that sound file into a Composer tool which displays the music in note duration and type (C, D, E…). Then a third where I have to manually create a music score using an editor based on what I am seeing and hearing in the Composer playback. All this just to figure out how to play a composition that I like but can’t find the music score.
Hi, Orcas! That sounds like a lot of work to do, but it is good that there are tools out there to help you figure out how to play a composition, and it is free! Which piece are you trying to find the notation for? Btw, How is your day?
A Dream Remembered by John Fluker. Its on the utubbies. Having a nice day.
I’ll check that out. It is great to hear your day is going well so far.
That’s a lot of work – do you have access to a synclavier?
I dinna know what a synclavier is!!
😯 Check it out – it’ll print out the sheet music for you, but I think it’s more of a composer’s tool.
Posting a new page in 5 minutes.
You gave the KAT notice. Shame on you, Jack. Shame on you.
“Begin the morning by saying to thyself, I shall meet with the busy-body, the ungrateful, arrogant, deceitful, envious, unsocial. All these things happen to them by reason of their ignorance of what is good and evil. But I who have seen the nature of the good that it is beautiful, and of the bad that it is ugly, and the nature of him who does wrong, that it is akin to me, not only of the same blood or seed, but that it participates in the same intelligence and the same portion of the divinity, I can neither be injured by any of them, for no one can fix on me what is ugly, nor can I be angry with my kinsman, nor hate him, For we are made for co-operation, like feet, like hands, like eyelids, like the rows of the upper and lower teeth. To act against one another then is contrary to nature; and it is acting against one another to be vexed and to turn away.” Marcus Aurelius
Appropriate quote, neb – and very timely. It would seem this issue is as old as humanity.
Hi, CG! I found last week a copy of Marcus Aurelis’ “Meditations,” interesting read so far. I don’t really know that much about Stoicism, and he explains a few of the tenets in the book. How are you doing today?
Great, thanks – it sounds like a great read. How’s you today?
I’m doing good! I think I might skip the Latin lessons today, I’ve been crammed into that for the past few weeks. Slowly I’m starting to figure out how to translate things, but I still have a lot more to learn, I think it will probably take me the rest of my life to really figure it out without a teacher, but the resources are there. In a good way by focusing time on it I’m starting to get comfortable writing away from the computer.
Big undertaking! I wonder if there’s a Rosetta Stone program for Latin.
There is one, I looked into it. I’ve never used that program, but I have been interested in it. I have heard great things about it. I would love to try any of the language packages they have.
Have you checked Ebay or Amazon for a used copy?
The cheapest I have found is around $100, but in many of the reviews it is mentioned that it adds to a persons understanding of the vocabulary, and of sentence organization, but it leaves out a lot of the things that can only be used by rote, such as the way the endings are in the Tense, and the Case of the word, for example here is simply one word, but look at the many ways that word can be written: http://www.verbix.com/webverbix/go.php?D1=9&T1=amo&H1=109
Hmmm – they missed Amaryllis. 😉
Cool! Marcus Aurelius was a respected Roman emperor. Had to look that up.
It is odd to come across a Roman Emperor that was actually respected by all, well not by the Christians, but this was due to his philosophy conflicting with their beliefs. I had to read up about him before posting that because since he was an Emperor he probably did unspeakable things, like violence, etc.
