Gina and I startled a large poisonous cottonmouth snake, near some steps to our porch…..DAMN!
I hate when we find those, I killed a 4 ft long one about 5 years ago, and Beau killed another near his brick pond. Won’t be using those steps for the foreseeable future. Our property also had a 6 ft rattlesnake, they killed before I moved here.

Hi, Neb, hi Poco, hi, MsB.

  8. nebdem says:

I’ve talked about this group before here and I’m certain most of you have heard about them, but the Golden Dawn that has been making efforts to become established in Greece, now they want to go global: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/apr/01/greece-golden-dawn-global-ambitions

This group is something that concerns me because all it takes for groups like this to get a foothold is to have 1/3 support in a country, they are nearing 1/3 in Greece, now they are trying to become accepted globally. This groups main goal is to turn Europe into a reborn Nazi Empire, they are violent, they are evil, and it is only a matter of time before the political killings begin in Greece if they’re are not checked.

    • Haruko Haruhara says:

They’re like the Aryan Brotherhood prison gangs here in America. That stuff going on in Texas is freaky.

      • nebdem says:

They are birds of the same feather. I’m upset about the way the Media seems to be so cautious about calling out those in Texas. Why do the Aryan Brotherhood and the Neo-Nazi groups that are in this country seem to be so hushed up. They need to have the full attention of the media pointed at them. They are terrorist organizations.

    • BoyInBOYCOTT says:

      hey poet
      did you submit your work?

      • nebdem says:

I have to wait until May 1st to submit something because they are not taking submissions right now.

    • Will never happen, sure the can gain a rogue country here and there but the tools of oblivion are so prevalent they would be taken out—who knows with SKorea mouthing off it may come sooner than later.

      • nebdem says:

All it takes is a group like that to gain a foothold and then everything changes. They may not be able to convert Greeks around the world, but they are paying lip service to a lot of people right now that have this sick fascination of reigniting the Nazi movement in the world. 1/3 support with groups like this turns into full support when their thugs start using violence to cement their foothold.

        • First image shows typical Germans during the height of Nazi rule.

The second image shows Nazi officers, remove all emotion attached to their uniforms and all you have is a military uniform like another.

The last images depicts the modern golden dawn and neo Nazi members. Do you think these guys will ever become mainstream enough while maintaining their message to change the power in a global scale?

But I agree these sort of SOB become relevant when economy are down and the government and citizens turn a blind eye. They usually start with the usual suspects, the Roma people, muslims and eventually their favorite target Jewish people. And it’s always under the guise of economic and social distress.

Don’t forget we have Texas and Arizona—-our minute men militias remind me of those European supremacists.

          • Yeppers. This is exactly the kind of environment that Nazism arose in. It does worry me….

          • nebdem says:

Points well taken. These loons seriously wanted to landmine the borders of the country to prevent immigration. About a week ago there was a bombing near the Parthenon by some anarchists, but in reality it was probably some paid stooges of this group that did it. What is shocking is that in most of Greece during WWII, the Nazi’s tyrannized the Greeks, occupied their land, now not more than 70 years later there are people in those same areas in Greece that now are so filled up with anger about the economy of Greece that they are simply overlooking what the Nazi’s did to them in WWII and now they are using their lore to refashion a National Socialist movement, heck even their logo wants to mirror that of the Nazis.

            • Neb, it’s a proven fact that a certain percentage of abuse survivors and others who have suffered bad things, will go on to become perpetrators themselves, sadly. They do carry the “roadmap” in their heads, and often pass it on down the line to the next generations… 😦

              • nebdem says:

I just hope that this group doesn’t grow larger and starts inspiring other groups to flock to the banner. I think it was last year in Greece there was a counter protest to the Golden Dawn, a peaceful protest. If the people remain firm they can marginalize them, but in the end game the GD wants to establish themselves and set up shop, the violence is only going to grow, I fear.

            • Great insight regarding taking up the symbols and rhetoric of the very people who at onetime victimized them.

              • nebdem says:

I have a bad feeling about them, I think that the very movement they are trying to foster is itself a threat to the future. It is like turning back the time and reinserting another narrative into the record.

          • captainpoco says:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLJUocaDYw0 mitchell and webb, are we the baddies?

      • “tools of oblivion” nice phrase, Jack.

    • Rough economic times are a fertile breeding ground for these types of groups. Find a scapegoat and away we go! It’s too bad they manage to convince so many to follow them down that path.

      Hi, neb!

      • nebdem says:

Hi, CG! Hopefully they never materialize into something bigger than what they are right now, but what they are right now can cause enough damage.

      • Kitteh Sis! I can has cupcake? 😛

        • Badger Sis! Absolutely, what flavor would you like? 😀

          • Watcha got? I would go for chocolate with a very thin coating of icing, and topped with coconut; or, a coconut one with thin icing and more coconut! 😀 I am rapidly becoming aware that I need to eat some lunch soon!

            • Whatever you would like – baking to order here! 😀

I was reading about you starting to re-design your living space – it’s an interesting process, to say the least. I used to sit down with graph paper and move paper cut-outs around to see what would fit where. Pre-computer days, obviously. Tape measure in hand – and . . . GO!

              • I have done that many times- and I do have graph paper at hand! 😀 I don’t give much of a fuck for decor and esthetics, but I want it liveable and pleasant. 😀

                • Oh, I found a website where you can print out any type of graph paper you need – from the standard to specialty papers – if you would like, I can go find the link. Another toy!

                • Oh, I have that one, and have used it! My printer ate the green weenie though, so I can’t print anything right now. I have some graph paper I bought for quilting. Freeprintables.net, right?

                • Oh, another one! It was something different, mostly for technical stuff. IDM
