“J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Chairman and Chief Executive James Dimon is scheduled to meet next week with dozens of bank examiners from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, a rare move that shows the level of scrutiny the nation’s largest bank and its leader now face.”
(i would love to see Dimon nailed to the wall.
    A girl can dream….)

    Hi, Realm.

  2. termgirl says:

It’s almost 9:00 PM here, and 78 degrees.
I’m hoping it cools down….. soon.

    • cpad says:

Oooh that’s warm for sure. It’s supposed to hit in the high seventies here starting tomorrow. Today was very warm as well – hubby brought up the air conditioner and fans from the basement so we can set them up – going to need them soon!

About a month ago I rearranged my winter clothes and summer clothes, and then things took a turn. I think the hot weather is here to stay now, so at least I’m ready, clothes-wise.

      The heat is on..♫♪

Bass, I tried to tell you before, but you buggered off. Did you hear Jacksonville has new helmets? I got a picture of one. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8113/8676475586_44ce0fb3f1.jpg

    Tomorrow I’m meeting a friend in one of my favorite places;
the antique district in Orange, CA.
We try and meet there at least once a year.
We have lunch at this drugstore / soda fountain that was built in the late 1880s.
I don’t think it’s been remodeled since the fifties.
    They do an amazing business.
At any rate, we always have a fun time when we get together.

cpad, did you know Rachel Maddow is Canadian? Her mother is from Newfoundland!

Speaking of neighbors and music, right now there’s a party next door replete with congas, tablas, electric violin and drunken singing… and it’s getting progressively LOUDER.

That violin has serious chops. Berkeley in night bloom.

We’re doing our annual Kentucky Derby pool at work again this year.
Two years ago we won $600.00 each. Hope history repeats.
I had to try a mint julep when I visited Churchill Downs a few years ago, in spite of my previous disappointments with them. Well there was no comparison. They serve them ice cold in these pewter cups. So good.

    • Snoyoda says:

      Yum!

    • nebdem says:

I’m so out of the trots when it comes to horse racing. I like horse races, always have, I’ve just never seen one in person. I’ve seen greyhounds run, but that is all.

      • termgirl says:

If you ever get the chance, neb, I think you would enjoy it.
Horse racing is in my blood… and I love studying the racing form. For me, it really isn’t about the money. I just enjoy trying to figure out which horse will win. It’s a challenge.
That and the fact that thoroughbreds are such magnificent creatures. I think they are really beautiful.

        • nebdem says:

Here in Omaha, we used to have a rather decent operation with horse racing with Aksarben (Nebraska spelled backwards) they’re trying to revive it now, but back in the 70’s 80’s it was a big draw but then the Cons or something interfered. I have a few relatives who’ve always gambled and it is now back on the upswing. I loved watching the grey-hounds. 3, 5, and 8 were my Trifecta.

    • Good luck to you – I hope your horse wins.

So close, yet so far away….

I see the posts on threads, and generally I agree
    Sometimes strongly so.
    But often I disagree
    Sometimes strongly so.
My dilemma is what is the argument worth?
If I did not know you, I would be aggressive!
Yet, I love you, and don’t want to alienate you.
    What then is the solution?
Do I argue a point that I passionately care about?
Or do I stay silent, because I love the poster (and friend)?
Sometimes posts condescend positions I support.
Names are called… sometimes I agree. But what to do when I don’t?

The Realm is a gathering place for varied opinions, varied points of view, varied backgrounds.
If I disagree, and sometimes I do, I respect your opinion, and i trust you will respect mine.

So, as I give thanks to the fewer coughs in between (after two weeks), I also give thanks to all of you. Rocky is our journey, yet satisfying for the friendship and LOVE we have. Take care all, and may my warm weather head your way! Niters.

  25. termgirl says:

    Good night, all.
    Take care, peace and love….
    See you, mañana.
