Just hanging out by Battery Park City near the water—clear day.
“J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Chairman and Chief Executive James Dimon is scheduled to meet next week with dozens of bank examiners from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, a rare move that shows the level of scrutiny the nation’s largest bank and its leader now face.”
(i would love to see Dimon nailed to the wall.
A girl can dream….)
Hi termgirl! Great news.
I would love to see his a$$ in jail.
It would be sweet to see them get nailed. Hi, tg!
How did the meetings go?
Good, but intense. Lots of info to file in my tired old head.
Hiya, tg! Chase bought my business to open a checking account when they gave me $150 for doing so. At the time I was welcoming all handouts, and dammit if they aren’t convenient to my wheel-less self still. I’m only a smidgen ashamed. 😳
Well… all of the larger banks suck, and convenience is important,
but Dimon is such an arrogant jerk. I just can’t stand that guy.
Been there, done that – we do what we gotta do.
Hiya, my friend. I am skeptical that he will answer for what he has done. He is, after all, a darling of Wall Street, and therefore of Congressional / governmental operatives.
It’s almost 9:00 PM here, and 78 degrees.
I’m hoping it cools down….. soon.
Oooh that’s warm for sure. It’s supposed to hit in the high seventies here starting tomorrow. Today was very warm as well – hubby brought up the air conditioner and fans from the basement so we can set them up – going to need them soon!
About a month ago I rearranged my winter clothes and summer clothes, and then things took a turn. I think the hot weather is here to stay now, so at least I’m ready, clothes-wise.
The heat is on..♫♪
I watch that segment on HGTV that featured the spherical tree house, and I immediately thought of you.
I bet our friends in the midwest have it on too! Very warm here in my neck of the woods, and on Orcas as well. Yay!!
Paul taking a stab at “I’m So Tired”… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_h9OyyM3QU
Nice! I hadn’t heard that one before.
Bass, I tried to tell you before, but you buggered off. Did you hear Jacksonville has new helmets? I got a picture of one. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8113/8676475586_44ce0fb3f1.jpg
A distant cousin of mine got a new helmet too.
Yeah, I saw them, and the black jerseys… still, it must be told: does a meaner look make for a meaner, better team if it doesn’t have the talent? Remains to be seen…
Probably another step in their 5-year L.A.-relocation plan…
Hey there, girlfriend!
Is it warming up there yet?
Rare outtake (prob. Abbey Road sessions)…
Beatles jam on the Stones’ “Not Fade Away” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3j8u3YM_iQo
Where’s x27 when you need him..?
Saw KB724 (?) the other night. He’s still playing the Volbeat’s stuff!
Very nice – hadn’t heard that one either 🙂
Tomorrow I’m meeting a friend in one of my favorite places;
the antique district in Orange, CA.
We try and meet there at least once a year.
We have lunch at this drugstore / soda fountain that was built in the late 1880s.
I don’t think it’s been remodeled since the fifties.
They do an amazing business.
At any rate, we always have a fun time when we get together.
Yommie! We used to make milkshakes at my dad’s restaurant out of hard ice cream. Its the best!
Hi Orcas! Yes, there is no other acceptable way to make a shake. I won’t buy the pseudo milkshakes that are made with mix – kaka.
Hi Cpad! A place on Orcas since closed, would make them that way too. With fresh local strawberries.
Mmmm….sounds heavenly. Strawberry is my favorite milkshake flavor.
I love this place… they serve malts in the metal containers.
I remember malts. I think when we made them the only dif between a shake was we added some malt powder.
The “kidz” today don’t know about malts, and the milkshakes they enjoy are from those gloppata machines. The last place I got a malt was at BR-33, which is (still) fairly good ice cream and they still make milkshakes and malts from the hard-packed stuff.
My mother used to make some of the richest chocolate shakes when I was little… talk about a massive calorie rush! They were whipped on one of those old industrial-strength shake-blenders. MMmmmmm….
That’s a cool place, indeed, TG. I liked to wander through the shops and see things (toys and games) that I remembered from childhood.
I really liked the store with all the hinges and knobs, too!
I’m a mid-century modern devotee, and they have a couple of places that sell that period, exclusively. I’m in heaven.
Yep! Sounds like a great way to spend a beautiful Saturday, TG!
Hugs, my friend!! I hope my warm weather will hit you guys in a couple of days. Time for you to have spring. Enough about the watershed!! It’s spring!!
Sounds like it will be a blast.
What a fun day you have planned! I used to love the old soda fountains – maybe some one will bring them back.
Same here, cg.
I think what made those places special, as a kid, was going just for the malt or the sundae. It wasn’t dessert, exactly. It was the main attraction.
That’s beautiful, tg!
Good to see you.
cpad, did you know Rachel Maddow is Canadian? Her mother is from Newfoundland!
I had no idea!
Hiya, my friend. I hope you are doing well.
Hugs to you and Pepe, my friend.
Another attempt to bring x27 back to the Realm…
George’s “Not Guilty” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bM72ozezNsg
Chumming for posters, eh? Realm rule book… let’s see… Chapstick (Suzy)… Chumbawamba… hmmm. Nothing says you can’t. Carry on.
One big happy family here… 😉
Good evening, my friends! Thanks, Jack for the video. I always enjoy seeing them! Thought you were going to fall in the water there for a minute. 😉
Hiya, Sno! How was your day?
Hugs, my friend. Lots of driving today, went to all three stores. Our crew did a great job with this grand opening…not perfect, but I am proud of their hard work..
Sno-man!! Good to see ya..
Bass!! Great to see you.
Good evening, Sno.
Hi tg, that meeting with your friends sounds like a lot of fun!
Hi, Sno! How are things going with you? Hugs!!
Hugs, my dear friend. Warm evening here finally. Hopefully it will head your way in a couple of days. I think you have had enough snow for this year. Time for spring!!
That would be nice – I’m over it! Glad you’re warming up. How are you feeling, did you shake that cough yet?
Almost. Still gets me at times. 2 weeks with this crap. It is really nice to breathe again!!
BTW… one week from tonight marks the 50th anniversary of the Stone’s first single.
“Come On” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCa6mzdNu2g
That’s an interesting song… kind of transitional rockabilly to English rock.
So… the clown-car is making a stop in Houston for the NRA group-cuddle, ehh..?
Are they sponsoring a booth for those adorable little pink machine guns for five-year-old girls?
Hmmph… I’ll bet they’re handing out earplugs when the Wasilla Sasquatch starts yappin..
Ha! “Wasilla Sasquatch.” Perfect.
LMAO! Nailed it!
Speaking of neighbors and music, right now there’s a party next door replete with congas, tablas, electric violin and drunken singing… and it’s getting progressively LOUDER.
That violin has serious chops. Berkeley in night bloom.
Better than Berkeley High’s athletic field PA which I get in Fall on Friday nights.
Sounds like my college days. “Turn it down you idiot!” Okay, buddy, let’s see how high it can go!!
Alison Krauss / Shawn Colvin / Jerry Douglas ~ The Boxer
Time for me to say Good Night, folks! Peace to all of you…
Niters, Bass. It was great to see you again. Take care!
Good night, Bass – sleep well. I hope you get some sunshine soon.
Peace and love to you.
Good night, Bass.
Peace to you.
Peace, Bass man.
I missed you. Take Care.
Greetings! A lil tipsy here, but peace and love to you all! Most Honourable Realmsters!
Into the blood wine again? 😉 HIya, neb!
I dabbled a bit too much, CG!
A perfect way to post, my talented friend. Hugs.
Hugs, Sno! Most Honourable, (when I figure out what race or breed Yoda belongs to, I’ll be there with it!)
Greetings inebriated poet warrior!
Greetings, Caller! 🙂
A little more Jerry Douglas.
Vishwa Mohan Bhatt & Jerry Douglas ~ Mississippi Mud
No. 8, this is one of the amazing songs I heard for the first time on SL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBoeQVm14lI
This isn’t bad!
Thanks, Haruko. She’s visceral.
We’re doing our annual Kentucky Derby pool at work again this year.
Two years ago we won $600.00 each. Hope history repeats.
I had to try a mint julep when I visited Churchill Downs a few years ago, in spite of my previous disappointments with them. Well there was no comparison. They serve them ice cold in these pewter cups. So good.
I’m so out of the trots when it comes to horse racing. I like horse races, always have, I’ve just never seen one in person. I’ve seen greyhounds run, but that is all.
If you ever get the chance, neb, I think you would enjoy it.
Horse racing is in my blood… and I love studying the racing form. For me, it really isn’t about the money. I just enjoy trying to figure out which horse will win. It’s a challenge.
That and the fact that thoroughbreds are such magnificent creatures. I think they are really beautiful.
Here in Omaha, we used to have a rather decent operation with horse racing with Aksarben (Nebraska spelled backwards) they’re trying to revive it now, but back in the 70’s 80’s it was a big draw but then the Cons or something interfered. I have a few relatives who’ve always gambled and it is now back on the upswing. I loved watching the grey-hounds. 3, 5, and 8 were my Trifecta.
Good luck to you – I hope your horse wins.
Joe Louis Walker ~ While My Guitar Gently Weeps
So close, yet so far away….
I see the posts on threads, and generally I agree
Sometimes strongly so.
But often I disagree
Sometimes strongly so.
My dilemma is what is the argument worth?
If I did not know you, I would be aggressive!
Yet, I love you, and don’t want to alienate you.
What then is the solution?
Do I argue a point that I passionately care about?
Or do I stay silent, because I love the poster (and friend)?
Sometimes posts condescend positions I support.
Names are called… sometimes I agree. But what to do when I don’t?
The Realm is a gathering place for varied opinions, varied points of view, varied backgrounds.
If I disagree, and sometimes I do, I respect your opinion, and i trust you will respect mine.
Agree or not, we’re solid. Love always wins.
I think the Realm is a place of civility.
That’s what I most appreciate about it.
As long as we agree I’m always right. 😀
Indeed, you are always right!!
I always respect your opinion – and yours is the type of business that should be thriving, not sacrificed to the Mall-Warts of the world. You can’t alienate me, Sno – even if we were to disagree. It’s a good thing to look at issues from different angles, how else to get to the core of the thing?
Good morning, happy Giro d’Italia to you all.
Q’Plah, how are things today up there?
We’ve been monitoring a few suspicious Cylon ships on long rang scanners, we just need a simple “Go ahead” to dispel them.
I’ll leave it up to your discretion Commander.
You do realize that I need confirmation from someone who is not a BSG patron?! You can give me the “Go ahead,” Most Honourable, Fi! If you give the order Quantum Torpedoes will be launched.
Oh ok, go ahead then, when you feel it is necessary!
I will skip the attack for now, I’ve had one too many drinks, which tells me to say “Good Night” or else I fall asleep on the keyboard, which mind you is in English script, if it were in Klingon letters it would be honourable to qwerty.
Goodnight, my warrior friend!
Good morning, fi.
Morning TG, all ok?
It’s Friday. Couldn’t be better. : )
Hope all is well with you, fi.
Yes, just grand TY, sun is shining this morning, but the heating is on, its chilly.
Nothing much planned today, except to clean up this computer area, Mr Fi pointed out last pm, its beginning to look like the inside of my car!
It does feel good to get things organized.
My desk at work should be condemned. I HAVE to work on that next week.
Good morning, fi!!
Morning Sno, all well in your little corner of the world?
Yepper, warm weather finally!!
OPINION :- Every man has a right to utter what he thinks is truth, and every other man has a right to knock him down for it.
Martyrdom is the Test!
Samuel Johnson 1709-84 (English Poet)
And good morning to you, fi. Happy Lumpy Rug Day!
Morning, and a happy lumpy rug day to you too.
, I love it!
Okay, it was yesterday for you, but at least you’ll be ready next year. 😉
Its already marked in my diary, I will try to get it made an annual holiday!
Good morning, Fi!
Top ‘o the morning to you pussycat, all well?
Indeed, it is, thanks – hope all is well with you.
Yeah, all good, but had terrible hayfever yesterday, first time this year!
Jake Shimabukuro ~ Bohemian Rhapsody
No. 8, here’s the other song I heard on SL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Msq75_D7N0&list=PL3EA2128953618611&index=12
So, as I give thanks to the fewer coughs in between (after two weeks), I also give thanks to all of you. Rocky is our journey, yet satisfying for the friendship and LOVE we have. Take care all, and may my warm weather head your way! Niters.
Good night, Sno. Better days for you, my friend.
Peace and love.
Take it easy. I had a few relapses with that cough myself. Niters, Sno.
Good night, all.
Take care, peace and love….
See you, mañana.
Always great to have you here. G’nite, tg.
Good night, tg.
