Justice For Trayvon?

This  tragedy would not have happened if George Zimmerman had thought before profiling Trayvon, ” Could I be profiled.” Had he not set on a course of vigilante justice and followed the law, Trayvon Martin would be alive. This started, no matter how argued, with the actions of ONE  criminal his name  is George Zimmerman. Hopefully justice will prevail and he will be sent to jail.

EW can exclusively reveal that J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek Into Darkness will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and On Demand on September 10, 2013. A digital download of the film will be available three weeks earlier, on August 20.

On one hand I am very happy that at least some media is still covering the shooting of Trayvon.
On the other hand, some members of the media are turning this into a victim blame-fest.

I keep thinking all the teens shot in the Country, and ONE gets a huge media circus, and the others are lucky if they get an obituary notice. Their parents must view this case with jealousy, that their son or daughter wasn’t valued enough to warrant this degree of attention.

True. I think this one took off the way it did because it was a neighbourhood watch guy, and the police let him go to begin with and had no intention of charging him.

Did you hear about this joke someone played on a TV anchor in San Francisco? It’s straight out of Ron Burgundy.

“Researchers have found high levels of radioactive cesium in fish caught early this month off Hitachi in Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo.

Prefectural officials said 1,037 becquerels of cesium were discovered per kilogram of Japanese sea bass. That’s more than 10 times the government safety limit.” NHK World

Beyond Nuclear’s take: This fish may be too contaminated for the limits in Japan, set at 100 Bq/kg for cesium (way too high), but this contamination level is acceptable in the United States due to lax Food and Drug Administration standards which allow 1200 Bq/kg of cesium. Couple this with the revelation that the ruined reactors at Fukushima are still leaking radioactive material, the levels are increasing, and that ICRP has condoned public “re-education” (slide #11 in link) in order to sell contaminated food to people outside contaminated areas, it is even more imperative that the US FDA lower its allowable cesium limit to 5 Bq/kg.

Judging by those photos at the top of the page,
I think I would feel less threatened meeting up in a dark alley with Trayvon than George Zimmerman.
I really hope justice is served, but I am afraid to be too optimistic.
There are just so many disappointments in today’s world.

  16. Ricki Lee says:

I’m optimistic that there will be a conviction and if it is manslaughter, so be it – as it would mean aggravated manslaughter because Trayvon was a minor, and a gun was used, so the sentencing will follow 10-20-life. Sending good vibes to the jury. May they focus from the very inception of this case – the nen call and follow Z’s intended path of vigilante justice. But then like Jack said “If he gets off, Karma will find him.”
