Neb, do you think the sled will support Ted Cruz?

  4. fi says:

Ted Cruz reminds me of the Preacher in the film Poltergeist!

There right here makes me sick: http://abcnews.go.com/Business/walmart-food-stamp-shopping-spree-choice/story?id=20579980

All of those people that rushed those stores are thieves. Plain and simple. Having worked in a store- If I were working that day and I saw that happening I would clock out and go home.

    • nebdem says:

Correction: I wouldn’t clock out and go home because first of all I would never work at Walmart.

  7. fi says:

    Ok, Hubby home, beddy-byes time.
    Goodnight all.

So what is the end game from this? The Republicans say they support the Constitution, the government. What a slap in the face to Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton right now would be so outraged over the notion of the idea that the U.S. cannot pay its debt. Though he saw an “excessive” debt as detrimental, he saw that running a debt if controlled would actually be beneficial if it can be paid down.

Perhaps in the end the major problem is that those in the Tea Party wing are so ignorant to learning why things are the way they are now, that because they have no sense of perspective when it comes to the arch of U.S. history, let a lone a cursory grasp of U.S. history, that they see things now as a moment to make a move to alter the course of U.S. history, yet because they don’t even know the path that the U.S. is on (since they clearly don’t think obligations to fund the very legislation they’ve approved). The money they are being asked pay off is not something that was decided days or even weeks ago, it was at the least over 8 months ago that these funds were prioritized. Anyways…

On another note: If I hear any Republican even as so much as mention that “they’ve been stabbed in the back,” when this thing is resolved. Well. I say to them: Go fuck yourself. The very mentioning of ‘them being stabbed in the back’ will more likely give them support from their stupid base, so much so that they will be arguing talking points of National Socialists.

    • waverly says:

Good point neb. This debt limit increase is not raising the debt. It’s authorizing us to borrow money to pay for what was already approved (by Republicans) and spent (by Republicans) and now the Republicans are saying that they are not going to authorize us to pay our tab ? At the very least this will wreck US credit for decades. Asswipes.

In a frightening way it may be their desire because it would embolden the more virulent strain of the Right Wing, prompting them to adopt tactics to take advantage of a crisis they themselves created enabling them to pander to the more angered segments of the population that seem only to care now about doing something with all of the guns they have been buying the last 6 years.

What’s happenin’ neb ? Are we on the verge of intergalactic remedial action ?

      • nebdem says:

Confidence is high. At any moment the orders may be given. Once started it is going to be a very difficult task to halt our advances. They who are against the Klingon Empire, now tremble in fear.

WTF – “I remember over and over I would ask him, you know, Ted, when I faced oppression in Cuba, I had a place to come to — if we lose our freedoms here, where are we going to go?”

“I grew up in Cuba under a strong, military, oppressive dictatorship. So as a teenager, I found myself involved in a revolution. I remember during that time, a young, charismatic leader rose up, talking about “hope” and “change.” His name was Fidel Castro.”

Listening to it now. This Rafael is one incredibly ignorant man. Self serving asshole! And after watching FOX news and Glenn Beck, he relays it to the congregation——-pathetic. Hey Waverly, enjoy your show nevertheless
