Texas files appeal following federal ruling state’s new abortion law is unconstitutional
Texas officials have appealed a decision made Monday in federal court that would block a part of the state’s new abortion law requiring doctors who perform an abortion to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.
District Judge Lee Yeakel ruled Monday that the provision in the bill violates the rights of abortion doctors to do what they think is best for their patients and would unreasonably restrict a woman’s access to abortion clinics.

Some idiot on HP claimed the judge’s name wasn’t “American” 😕

Hey Dawg !!! Well that was really different. 🙂
Tell Congress to Support the USA Freedom Act
Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner and Sen. Patrick Leahy just introduced the USA Freedom Act, which would end the NSA’s bulk collection of our phone records and require more oversight and transparency of the agency’s domestic surveillance programs.
I finally managed to drag myself back onto LinkedIn (I’d rather cough up a fur ball, gak, gak) But at least they have some different (not always) news there. Better buy up now.
Hiya… saw what you said about Wi. and Walker…blech blech blech. Gotta tell you, I think we lost that recall because Wisconsinites were against the recall not so much for Walker, imo. We have someone who can beat him now, I think. I just sent some bucks to the beat Walker campaign.I cannot stand the man. He is destroying our State… and he’s a jerk.
Agreed. Hi Bastal, how are you doing today ?
Hi there!!! Just dandy, thanks!!! : )
What part of Wisconsin are you from ? I’m in Milwaukee.
That makes us roughly about an hour apart. And CPA lives in WI also. I don’t know how much longer I may be here though, might have to move for work.
Yes, it does. Is this your home State?
I’ve moved back and forth across the country a few times already. All I need are the four C’s: Cat, Car, Computer & Clothes.
What part of the world are you in,if I may ask?
As CG and MsB would say: Jinx !
That was too funny!!!!
well … great minds !
It is 34 F here today! Brrr … going out … bundled up.
We have decent weather today but it’s all about to go.
Government lost nearly $10 billion on the bailout of General Motors. GM employ about 80,000 people in the U.S. Are 80,000 jobs worth $10 billion? (that’s probably about $4 billion to $5 billion payroll per year) . http://www.nbcnews.com/business/u-s-reports-9-7-billion-loss-general-motors-bailout-8C11490659

Comments section: ” The shit don’t fall far from the bat” 😀
(Crikey just try posting THAT over at The Poo…)
that is very halloweeny.
Love reading the comments section over at Kos, I’m tempted to open an account there but I’d never be able to keep up. Still, it’s refreshing!
Ha! that’s a great line, gotta remember that one!
Woah it’s like a graveyard in here today…coming from a zombie that’s saying a lot.
Tuesday evening – 2for1 pizza nite?
See that scared me off.
Buy 1 get 1 free chili at Wendy’s!
Hiya, Jack!!!!!!!!! Well it took a while but I finally found my “1” key which popped off my keyboard when I dropped it!! I mean of all of the keys to lose – it meant no more exclamation points!! Faced with going into withdrawal, I persevered and found it!!! Yay!! I really need to get my Mac repaired!
Ohhh and I found my pearl earring I thought was gone forever!!!! Double Yay!!!
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!! AND here is a few more of these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unprecedented this is my 3rd WAKE-UP YOU BUMS of the day.
I have to get something off my chest.
I’m really sick of the way the description “libertarian” is thrown around.
Supposed libertarian, Rand Paul campaigning for supposed fellow-libertarian Ken Cuccinelli who wants to:
ban gay marriage
ban no-fault divorce
ban oral-sex (yeah…. he really does.)
If that’s liberty, they can have it.
Hi, tg! I agree – these frauds are in desperate need of therapy – sex therapy not to be excluded.
Hi, RL. Agreed.
Darn I stayed away too long looking for something I read yesterday on LiberTURDians that goes well with your astute observations. With them is Liberty for themselves screw the rest.
It’s almost impossible for Libertarians to avoid getting banned over and over and over from liberal websites.
Well, at least one of ’em. 😀
Honestly, I’ve yet to meet someone who proudly calls themselves “Libertarian” who was even remotely emotionally or psychologically developed or stable.
Hi, Haruko! When’s the next bb game scheduled?
Seems like there is no liberty in libertarian.
Eric Cantor will make $200k & work 126 days in 2013. He proposed a bill to cut overtime dollars for workers. (This free-loader wouldn’t know over-time if it bit him in the ass.)
He sure as hell does not know honest work.
Guy gives me the creeps.
Hey, Orcas – me, too! Him and Eddie Munster – two peas in a pod
How does it feel to be back in Cali?
I went on a bike ride to Stanford Campus and back. About 19 miles. A bit stiff since I hadn’t ridden since last May. I plan to ride more now that I’m no longer working. Plus try my hand at winter gardening in the greenhouse and covered beds perhaps back on Orcas.
I bet it felt good though, eh? So you quit the Orcas job?
Yeah, it was just temporary. I didn’t want to not be able to travel to visit family on Thanksgiving and Christmas…plus a trip to San Diego in January.
Good for you – especially since they don’t like people taking off during the holidays. You don’t need a strait jacket job! My jobette asked if I wanted to work Thanksgiving night – and I said NO! I miss the days when everything was closed during the holidays. But then I don’t shop Black Friday either.
How big is Orcas Island? are there no Mt.Biking trails?
It’s pretty big. From my place to the other side, Deer Harbor and beyond is over 23 miles.
Seasonal trails in Moran State Park, not always open for bikes.
You have no excuse not to ride http://wildlifecycles.com/orcas-island-bike-routes/
of course I say so sitting on my comfy couch 😀
Oh, yeah. I see their bike vans all the time. They bring groups over from Greater Seattle area. Mostly asphalt rides, though which is about all there is.
Same here, Orcas.
Rand, Cruz, Cantor, Boehner, etc.
They are all creepy.
Don’t forget Mitch McConell http://naturescrusaders.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/blobfish_2.jpg
Wow! Great photo of that one, Jack!
Hahaha! That is a striking resemblance.
hah!!!! 😆 There is a remarkable resemblance.
I don’t like making fun of fugly people but for this guy I’ll make an exception.
Running some errands. Back in a few.
I have this very romantacised notion of living off the grid on a few acres and living off the land. This is something I should have tried a few decades ago, even though I do not have a natural green thumb. (I think I could learn.) I know I won’t do it, but I love reading these articles.
Infographic: How Much Backyard Is Needed To Feed A Family of Four?
Do you have family who own a farm or ever spend time in one? When they sent us off to grannies farm it the summer, before my younger bro was born, it was like being punished. No TV, electric light was used sparingly, country kids were strange, effing pigs! I even milked a cow, no AC in church or anywhere other than the Hospital—how I wish I could go back if only for a day.
I remember the good stuff. Collecting eggs was really fun.
I know the reality, on a day to day basis, would be a lot of hard work.
I just think the whole food “big business,” is becoming unhealthy and not eco-friendly, and going totally solar would be a great thing.
Warm eggs–I remember. Yeah it would be hard plus folks back then were strong, granny could intimidate a soldier. Memories are flooding in I remember the solar panels for hot water and cisterns, not to mention the out house.
If you can tend a garden, I think it’s manageable when you retire or go off the grid 😉
Nothing smells like pig poo — yuck! Glad I grew up with cows, horses, and wild barn cats plus huge spiders in the farm’s garden! The good old days!
Gawd those things were this BIG http://horrorcultfilms.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/giant-spider.png lucky you it would be so hard to have that kind of life now.
Oh! Damn that’s the truth, pig-poo, you can feel it burning your lungs out!
You too? Driving by dairy farms was not fun either.
I like the Tiny Home on Wheels movement. Was just looking at some YouTube vids about building ideas. Northern climate is a bit of a challenge for gardening but doable.

Small in Sq footage big on link 😀
I like that, as well.
Always been a dream of mine also. Solar, maybe some wind, greenhouse and aqua-culture, some chickens for eggs. Beautiful dream…
You’re talking my language now – I would love to be able to do that.
BB in a few.
I have to go out for a bit, too. bbl
Well I don’t have to go out–what gives?
Damn, the dog is pacing at the door. BBL.
Hey I made country style skillet potatoes — don’t know why I just said that, I guess it seems like a good thing to say.
It did seem to be a non-sequiter.
U had to spoil that too.
One of the few good strips remaining in syndication.
Bub how’s you?
I’m starving! Shoveling in a late supper, busy as always, doing good otherwise. How have you been?
as you can surmise stuffed to the gills, work wise thing will slow down a bit this week which will free up my schedule for some wife arguing 😀
Sounds yummy. I did have a few small potatoes, Yukons I think in the garden this year.
What long time crop were you growing a few years back asparagus?
Probably not that stuff Coinyer grows! 🙂
Oh that stuff is fast grow high yield.
Yes. Asparagus. In it’s second year now. Not doing too well. Might be too cold of a climate. I should try covering it with some straw this winter though.
When Mars Attacked 75 Years Ago—And Everyone Believed It:
HA! That will be the new page!
I listened to a recording of that broadcast. For 1938 and the winds of world war blowing in Europe, it was entirely too convincing!
Hi, bubba. It really was.
Hard to believe that Superman was a recent visitor, the number one comic issue was June of that year! (1938) That probably added a bit to the hysteria.
hey he was a farm boy.
Even as kid, I couldn’t understand how Clark Kent wasn’t recognized as Superman… but I loved it regardless.
Superman is still my favorite super-hero, and you’re right, it no doubt added to the hysteria.
😆 NPR did a thing on that just a few days ago. Listened to it while driving south.
Rep. Pascrell let’s his GOP colleagues have it in a House committee meeting, and the result is one of the most honest, refreshing, and enthusiastic smack-downs we’ve seen from Congress in a while. Are you tired of GOP shenanigans in Washington? Because it looks like Rep. Pascrell most certainly is. WATCH:
That is exactly what is needed.
No holds barred, pull no punches…… TRUTH.
It really is TIME for the Democrats to start kicking ass and calling names.
