Reluctant reporter decides to do an on air Mammogram, well see the story.
What a difference a week makes, left wearing shorts, tonight and tomorrow freezing temps.
I brought my cullinary ginger plant inside. I bought myself a varigieted Yucca in TX
as a souvineer
Think outside the boss.
Now that’s a smart bunny !
Okay – I guess I can say this today WAKE – UP YOU BUMS!
Good morning Jack. Where’s the Major ? He appears to be MIA today.
!!!!!!! http://d2tq98mqfjyz2l.cloudfront.net/image_cache/1371684603566567_animate.gif That’s because lazy bums don’t like to wake up early and play like he does.
Hiya, Jack – how’s you today?
Hey Kat!!!!!!! all is good, what are your plans for today?
Oh, studying – gotz another stoopit meeting tonight. 😦 Getting tired of this.
takeover the board and become the de facto dictator.
~groan~ Just what I need – what about my sanity?
sanity?I had that once but I found it to be a bore.
I need a vacation.
How is St. Lucia at this time of the year?
Hell, I’d settle for Glenwood Springs!
Well when you have all that natural beauty around you is easy to stay local, no matter where I go it’s a hike so I might as well go far.
re-stocked the pantry and fridge, and bought supplies for Thanksgiving with Beau’s neighbors, it was just the anniversary from when Mister Junior passed away. I bought two key lime pies, fixings to bake pumpkin drop cookies (half I frost with cream cheese frosting, half are sprinkled with sugar. I’ll bake my grandmother’s cardemom rolls, and bring the green been casserole,(they asked for veggie dishes. and fewer desserts, I do BOTH)
Hitting the ground running, I see. Your recipes are looking good! Glad to see you back. How did the events go, did you bring any pics?
Sorry to hear about your roommate’s mom – please give him my condolences.
They adored the flowers, we didn’t take pics, but our friend took some and she’ll send us copies. In a rustic log cabin, big paper flowers displayed in 600 dollars of majolica urns was a great juxtaposition, and Beau found four 2″ long gold leafed vases that were just right on the 24 foot long double width table. The second event was more formal, at a Museum
seems this year everyone is going to their in-laws for Thanksgiving. I have some invites, and friends who want to do something in the city. But I’m considering giving it a go at making a dance given dinner – I’ll have to query the Mrs. to see she will allow me the mess.
one nice thing about hosting, the left overs are in your fridge for grazing on Black Friday
You can tell I am on my dictation software when Thanksgiving becomes dance given 🙄
Morning Bib, now you’re making me hungry. Time to see what’s for lunch, bbl.
I bet she only brings back tunafish sandwiches for us 😛
Cold turkey and cheese, on white… 😛
You can spruce up anything KAT! how about a nice chili lime chutney? or a homemade Cajun Remoulade sauce?
Don’t I know it! Heat up the grill and start cleaning out the fridge.
Just came off of a two week refrigerator austerity diet. I had to eat everything in the refrigerator before going to get more groceries. All I had left was half an onion, some grated cheese, and a jar of mayonnaise, LOL..
actually I’m having a pumpkin muffin with whipped cream. 🙂 Healthy, I know.
and I eat key lime pie for the vitamin C
Hey there Bib, your recipes have got me in a baking mood now. Gotta get some fresh baking ingredients. I’m an ok cook in general, but huge on Christmas cookies. Of course any cookie in my book will do for a Christmas cookie, the yummier the better.
those pumpkin drop cookies are dead easy, and very yummy
Already added to my list 🙂
We had beautiful weather to work on the flowers and for the events. The Museum even brought in 3 longhorn steers, (Beau nicknamed them the longhorn deer, that they only bring out for Christmas) and a mariachi band strolling thru the outdoor tables, and cowboy performers telling stories.
Beau also made a 7 hr drive into a 17 hour drive, by discovering after 5 hrs driving to SA, he had left an * essential* bottle of medicine at home. (that we couldn’t get refilled in TX)….so we drove back home to get it.
Checklist! What a great start, huh?
actually he did check his list, and carefully packed all this med, but in an advil bottle, and proceeded to pack an actual advil bottle
That happened to me before. Fortunately I had a cat sitter friend over-night them to the hotel where I was staying.
I put a Thanksgiving message on my twitter account page….cuz I’m a GIVER
You’re a kind soul.
ain’t I just
Hey did you ever do those scary Halloween sticks?
yes the painted sticks were used in both parties, the second party we added parakeet haleconias wired on the branches. Our friend is Native American, so I added a crow feather to the branches too, as a talismen from her clan.
I have never seen those haleconias before— I may have to fire my garden staff.
a variegated yucca would be nic too
They have those.
Those heliconias are really pretty.
Daily dose of Americana
According to the tour guides at the Bronx zoo, every bison is a descendent of some sent there by Theodore Roosevelt.
It was so refreshing to be in a city, and I love San Antonio’s Riverwalk. Up on street level, every signal light yells WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, then when the walk light is on, it tells which intersection you are crossing, and counts the seconds for the walking to be on
You stay there before didn’t you?
yes twice before, at a very nice host hotel
I hate having to deal with people on the phone @#$#%W*!
Don’t we all, especially cable companies.
Worse when they are work related and you have to listen to the crapola.
sounds like a tele-conference call. Keep it on mute and crack jokes, that’s what I do. Of course this could be a contributing factor as to why I don’t have a job now 😆
HA! did you Zig when you should have Zag?
The ultimate big oops.
me too, which reminds me I have to have my hearing checked….that’s part of my problem on phonecalls
—“well f**k you too!” * phone hangs* on the other end, ” Sir, please sir, I said it was fun talking to you.” 🙂 even without the hearing issues I find it hard sometimes when you get people who talk fast or have heavy accents.
Or talk fast And have heavy accents.
Well Ok Jack, I finalized my trip to NYC. A week from this Friday I’m staying at the Pod51. Can you recommend any good restaurants in the vicinity ?
I know there are a million places, but I’m looking for casual and conversation friendly, that can accommodate say a party of 10 or 12. I would at least like to make an intelligent suggestion. C’mon help me out here, throw me a bone.
Nothing, really ? Ok, I’ll let you know where we end up 🙂
I bought a dvd of Lincoln when I shopped today, Walmart has it for 12 bucks
they already had Man of Steel and World War Z dvds too
hey major and HH

Teenagers confront Boehner on immigration reform
House Speaker John Boehner doesn’t seem to want to budge on his refusal to take up comprehensive immigration reform this year–despite getting a stern talking to from two teenagers over breakfast. read story;
Was Beohner drinking bloody marys?
In his case that would be Muddy Blearys. Hi, Haruko.
Blubby Meebies! Hi, Kitteh 🙂
Pro-choice politicians try playing offense (again)
Today, rather than let Sen. Lindsey Graham’s 20-week abortion ban singlehandedly return the issue of reproductive rights to the federal battleground, Sens. Richard Blumenthal, Barbara Boxer, and Tammy Baldwin, along with Reps. Lois Frankel and Marcia Fudge, are introducing the Women’s Health Protection Act of 2013. The bill seeks to to undercut state laws that are chipping away at Roe v. Wade. According to a release, it is intended to “prohibit laws that impose burdensome requirements on access to women’s health such as requiring doctors to perform tests and procedures that doctors deem in their professional opinion to be unnecessary.”
If men could conceive morning after pills would come in Pez dispensers and you could get an abortion at the CVS drive-thru.
if men could get pregnant, no family would have more than one baby, and abortion clinics would have attached sports bars.
Quick fly-by to say ‘hello’ to my favorite peoples! Mammograms for everybody!
I had a boss once who offered us girls free mammograms on the office copy machine. 😆
A boss? That stuff will get you fired.
