Some right winger was trying to convince me that Joe Lieberman was a diehard Democrat. Anyone else remember this or is it parallel universe day?

revisionist history, echoes from the bubble.

    • The Democrats kicked him out of the party 7 or 8 years ago.

    • Jack says:

LIEberman?! please he’s a true Dem as Minister Fred Phelps is a good Christian.

    • coppernicus says:

He was a Democrat, but I wouldn’t have called him diehard, maybe bluedog at most.

    • termgirl says:

A “diehard Democrat” would never have given a speech at a Republican Convention and endorsed a Republican (John McCain,) for President.
He was officially listed as an “Independent Democrat,” whatever the hell that is, in Senate records for the 110th and 111th Congresses.
      Revisionist history….. indeed.

Hey where is Cobalt and Rick?

  3. plutocrats says:

The backlash to the Obamacare fix has already started

Apparently there are just tons of people out there that enjoy getting ripped off by their insurance companies with junk plans… or they are just terminally stupid. We’re doomed either way. 😐

  4. USAGramma says:

G’night folks. I’m going to see if I can get a little shuteye in before the poop machine drags me out into the cold, dark night again. Sigh.

Surprisingly enough given the video page no one got all birds and the bees…

    RIP Western Black Rhino,

  8. termgirl says:

For argument’s sake, this is a really good comment from democratic underground re: the ACA.
I can’t vouch for these numbers without researching, but they sound reasonable.
For anyone who is having their insurance cancelled, they need to get specifics from their carrier. Exactly what part of the basic standards required by the ACA, did their old policy not meet?
I know that our company insurance has been raised, while whittling down coverage, almost every year. That is why so many smaller companies change carriers so often. It’s a continual battle to try and find the best coverage. .

    • Caller no. 8 says:

I see a lot of the tumult caused by the ACA as illuminating what the insurance carriers have been doing necessitating the ACA. This show has just started.

    • Lizard Island says:

I read one analysis today, can’t remember where that the Republicans who hate the ACA will not be able to stop it since more and more people, day by day are relying on it.

      • termgirl says:

They have done everything in their power to sabotage the ACA, but I think this is true. What are they going to do at this point; tell the people who now have health care, some for the first time in years, that it will be taken away?

    • BassFace says:

People, as much as I sympathize with their situation, need to step back a bit and not make snap-decisions that the ACA is directly to blame… as this controversy continues to grow, the shark-pool that is the GOP-propaganda machine (a.k.a. Fox News, radio pundits, and “soft-Fox” outlets like CNN) and US “mainstream” media – even NPR to a degree – fan the flames and hide the facts that, despite a poorly-coded website like, that ACA-generated policies are indeed being created, particularly in those States that have their ‘exchanges’ open, and that such a monumental program will have its fits & gags in the beginning, and as the kinks are being worked out will improve and become more acceptable over time… the downside, is that we now live in an era where instant-gratification has become standard practice. What to do…

    WTF?!! 😮

  10. plutocrats says:

Musicians, and we’ve got poets too. Lot of talent ’round these parts. I got a trophy in little league once. Yep… I’m pretty proud of that one. 🙄 um.. erm… so did I ever tell you guys about that velociraptor that tried to jump me on the way home?

  11. termgirl says:

If you ever want to read a story about the exploitation of a musician, this is the story of “Blind Bill Day” aka Jillson Setters.

He was an original street musician.
Some of his recordings are in the Library of Congress.
He’s my great, great uncle. .
