We knew it all along, didn’t we?
HP can “clarify” (wink wink) all they want but it’s still called CENSORSHIP.

“I’m a big fan of having machines help us with the lower level tasks, freeing up time, resources and brain power for more interesting and complex tasks. JuLiA [the artificial intelligence system that HuffPo owns] takes that a few steps further and helps us with a lot of other aspects of HuffPost in addition to helping weed out abusive members, including identifying intelligent conversations for promotion, and CONTENT THAT IS A MISMATCH FOR OUR ADVERTISERS. She has allowed us to do a lot more with a lot less.”

“Once on the MMORPG game WoW they once suggested using people’s real names.
As proof that it was perfectly ‘safe’ they had one of their employees reveal his real name.

Within an hour someone found out the guys address, number of children, his salary, even his phone number.

They reversed their position on it to the point only approved friends knew each other’s real names

    This is a bad move.”

All one has to do to get a good understanding of what is to come is to go onto a video game community board. I’ve seen some really bad things happen on them.

Indeed, People get totally vicious! Those that get caught up on WoW and similar “unending” (can’t think of the correct word here) games can really suffer psychologically.

I noticed today that their traffic is not following the usual trend line. It is flat.

And if they can get information like you cited in your comment, just imagine the fallout come election time with employers who try to force their employees into towing the company line. Imagine if they ran a background check on their online activity? They even can force a person to divulge their FB password, not certain if that has changed, but it is going to happen I’m certain to a few, a few that is going to grow in numbers astronomically now.

“Keeping in mind Huffpost’s newly found penchant for accountability, I’m reminded of what old Sam Clemmons once said: “If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.” After all, like Marion Morrison said, a man’ s gotta do what a man’s gotta do. Cherilyn Sarkisian’s mother, Jackie Crouch once lost a role to Norma Mortenson who said, dogs never bite me, just humans. Some say that Stefani Germanotta stole her act from that Ciccone gal, but everyone knows that she got it from Mortenson all along. I could go on and on, but like Wiiliam Porter said, life is made up of sobs, sniffles, and smiles, with sniffles predominating.”

Honestly, people need to stop hiding behind their online “avatars” and be more human in their conversation and comments. YouTube is blowing up about this same thing. Personally, I most appreciate dealing with real people and like the idea of people being accountable for their comments. If you can’t be real… then perhaps you should not be active on social media. I am all for transparency!

Would you still be okay with being held “accountable” for your comments if someone decides to take a hating to you (for whatever reason, and don’t say there can’t be in this world chock full o’ nuts), stalk you via your HP – Facebook connection, and bring harm to you or your family?

I really don’t think you’re prepared for that; mentally or physically. Start here: http://grahamcluley.com/2013/09/internet-mobile-social-networks-stalking/
