Did you know George Zimmerman Planning to Get Psychology or Political Science Degree? LOL
Oh well, it was nice talking to myself!! 😉
I will be back some other time.
Hello gorgeous !!~!
Oh the irony.
If he gets a Political Science degree he could go into law enforcement.
He already has a power complex that doesn’t need feeding.
I was kidding
I know, my brain failed me that is all I could come up with.
happens to me all the time
No doubt some law enforcement department in FL would be delighted to have him!
Yeah, that much I’m sure
Here’s some European music for you:
George Thorogood – one Bourbon one Scotch one Beer
Hmmm…speaking of turntables earlier….Beck…Where It’s At….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPfmNxKLDG4
No…not the bacon.
These “trade deals” should NEVER be negotiated in secret! Not a single one…NEVER!
The German meat industry is by no means as idyllic as they portrait it in that article. The way pigs have to grow up (or grow fat enough) is awful, no different than the USA. Only some substances that are allowed in the USA are not allowed here, such as hormones and genetically altered food. We have a whole lot less obese people, and IMHO because of our stricter (not strict enough! food laws. Meat is super cheap here, unless you buy bio (= organic). To my knowledge, nowhere is food as cheap when compared to the income as it is in Germany.
Great….I have no f_cking water pressure…. 😦
Hi there Dood,
I thought you might like this by the Young Turks.
By the way, I am trying to send links the everybody else is doing, but don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Thanks in advance.
When you want to post a video link you should maybe post a few periods between the last word and the link without spaces like this…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfgZH8kFAKc
I hope you’ve heard of Willie Nelson 😉
Of course! Willie Nelson is famous here, too. Not as famous as David Hasselhoff (;-D), but music lovers know him.
Thought you’d enjoy the song! 😉 It was recorded at a radio station here where I live…Indiana.
type a few spaces (or any other characters) before the url.
I hate it when that happens !!! Which when I lived in Phoenix would happen all the time.
I think the pipes around here were put down by the Roman Empire!
Oh well…soup is made, coffee pot is set, water filter pitcher in the fridge is full…and I have beer in the fridge! 🙂
sounds like you are good to go 😀
Yeah…except I don’t usually shave on my days off and I’ve been off for three days…could look pretty grubby if it’s not fixed by morning before I go to work!
You could just trim it and go for that rugged look.
Yeah but it’s not really trim-able at this point. We have four patients on ECMO…maybe I’ll be wearing a mask all day!
there ya go. No worry, the water will prolly be back on tonight.
The Roman Empire extended all the way to America? I didn’t know that!
These pipes may pre-date them! They sure have a lot of problems with them!
I was looking up info about that awhile ago and saved the link, saw your comment and knew I had to post it!
Btw, Greetings, Dood!
Hiya neb! That’s a lot of info! I was watching Science or Discovery channel or one of those and they were explaining how they built them..made them straight…proper angle to keep water flowing and such…pretty cool to think of how they figured that stuff out! Of course H2 would say aliens built it! 🙄
Over the years I have read a few books about how civilizations created infrastructure and it still amazes me how they actually carried it out. I’m fascinated by the construction of aqueducts. Though I must admit that it would have been hell to be a grunt on that project. The way the Romans built roads is fascinating:
Cool! Thanks for the links! I’ll have a look!
Let us celebrate…profits over people!
American workers really don’t have it easy. No social net, no vacation time to speak about, iffy health insurance. And fewer rights than employees in other industrialized countries. I often wonder why you don’t have a revolution.
I wonder that myself. Americans are suffering from learned helplessness.
There’s that. Plus they seem to believe they can make it rich – the pursuit of happiness thing. Somehow, many Americans (trolls on HuffPost) seem to believe that poor and sick people earn their fate, and the rich earn their riches, and that solidarity = socialism = communism. Did Paris Hilton deserve her riches?
American’s love to believe in the mythical American dream. And they just can’t grasp the fact that there is a reason the wealthy represent a small number. They might as well try and become a professional athlete too.
The average German wants his or her cradle-to-grave health insurance including dental, nursing and palliative care, 30 working days paid vacation a year, union rights, retirement benefits, a safety net that is supposed (and manages pretty well) to leave nobody behind. The vast majority is willing to pay higher taxes than US citizens for example. We want security instead of the dream of making it from dishwasher to millionaire. Really rich people don’t show off here. So far we have no gated communities, and nobody sleeping in cars or under bridges (with the exception of a few poor illegal refugees, though their numbers are rising).
I prefer to have the time off. I love travel.
Americans are idiots.
I wouldn’t put it that way. We have our fair share of idiots and sheeples, too. I think that Americans are much much more brainwashed – the hand-over-heart when the national anthem plays comes to mind. Now Germans have had their patriotism exorcised something fierce. With the exception of the advertisement industry, representing the arch capitalists, they don’t really brainwash us too much. But then, how would I know whether I’m brainwashed or not, if I am?
I’m afraid one may come someday…it won’t be pretty 😦
Revolution in a country where just about everybody is armed to their eyeballs = civil war. And who profits: the NRA and those they represent :-((
My great grandfather was straight off the boat? Can I become a German citizen. I’m not gonna lie I was a terrible student when my grandma was trying to teach me German.
If you have a profession that enables you to find a job here, you’d be welcome. Germany needs immigration because of demographics (ze Germans are dying out…) It’s easier for US citizens to work here than for many other non-EU nationals. Americans have special privileges, they can even listen to my and Angela Merkel’s phone, and nothing happens 😉
Hmmmmm….do they need RNs??
Yes, they do. It’s one of the jobs where they are looking for people. Unfortunately, RNs are underpaid, and the jobs in hospitals very stressy. Our medics emigrate to places like Switzerland and Scandinavia, because conditions are better there. If you were flipping burgers, your chances would be considerably lower ;-D
Working in another country is something I sometimes dream about…
What about doctors without boarders or peace corps?
Don’t know what I’d do with my pup! My parents are getting older too…dad has worsening dementia…
They have offices in Germany, but those people work in Africa, Asia, South Detroit, not here.
I’ve done it. In the USA. There were several reasons for wanting to go back home, even though I had a green card. One of the main ones was the lack of insurance, vacation, job security. That’s why I appreciate them so much. Most people I know take our social net for granted. When I tell them how things are in the USA, they often think I’m exaggerating. Everybody here knows that there are many very poor people in the USA, and the health care system is for the rich. But that it’s THAT bad…
I think I really just want to travel like you are! 🙂
How is the skiing? And I have a horse. Does Germany have an equivalent for a Physicians Assistant?
Otherwise I can double as a research biologist. I could also work in a lab running PCR or something.
Now there’s a thought. In international biology labs, the lingua franca is English. So are their homepages.
Physicians assistant would be “Arzthelfer”. Not possible without adequate German and knowledge of the very complicated health insurance system. Not well paid, but still 30 working days vacation etc. p.p.
Sorry, I didn’t answer all your questions. There is skiing, mainly (but not only) in the south (the Alps). If you’re rich, you can ship your horse, and live in the country somewhere. But if you’re rich enough to ship a horse, you might as well stay where you are. The USA is a very nice place for rich people.
Weezer – Say It Ain’t So…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENXvZ9YRjbo
I’m doing some research for my trip to Montevideo, and found this:
Very very funny, the Uruguayans!
Haha! See if they need RN’s while you’re there! 😉
I read about the social system in Uruguay. They have something like universal health insurance, very cheap, but also poor. I also read that many Uruguayans emigrate, though fewer than before. Maybe they believe in the American dream. The grass is always greener on the other side…
Yeah…I just want to be a human that gets along with other humans…wherever I find myself!
Come join us on the new page if you’re still here! 😀
Desertion. I’ll have your side-arm. Are we clear? Over.
