Being Human: Is a realm exploration of what makes people- people.
I’m making beef and broccoli tonight. The key is good oyster sauce. Behold life on the edge.
The future belongs to the brave such as you!
I liked your crabcake recipe. A friend does it that way with Panko too. I would put cajun spice in my tartar sauce though, let it set awhile in the fridge.
I actually add a little to the crab mix.
I’m adding shredded carrots too. I’m totally out of control.
By Jove control yourself man!
I’m going to add some veggie stock too, you may as well write me off. Go on without me, save yourself! Carry my story to the far corners of the Earth. I’m relying on you to tell everyone what happened here today. Now go… *cough*
ICARUS, Angel or Devil, you risk destruction
Why Oh why? must you fly so close to the sun?
Oh noes, embed. Why? Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhyyyyy?
Sounds good. I love Chinese food. And Indian food, and Mexican food, and Latin food, and ..and…
I’ve experimented with Indian, but enough about band camp…
Mmmmm .. I like oyster crackers for some reason. Can’t explain it.
They go with tomato soup like peas and carrots. At least that’s what Gump tells me.
There’s an oyster farm on the island that Lizard lives on!
Yeppers! Two in fact. One near my place (Buck Bay) and the other on Crescent Beach near town.
Was in a bar with a friend in Harvard Square once. We were eating their popcorn shrimp and having Dixie Longneck beers. We bribed the barmaid $5 for the shrimp dip dressing. It was basically cole slaw dressing with cajun seasoning. Mayo, vinegar, a bit of sugar and seasonings.
John McCain censured by the Republican Party of Arizona for being “too liberal.”
And Boehner bemoaning the Tea Bagger Loons…delicious!
I always knew that about him. 🙄
What? is he not enough of a thug for them?
That brute Commie trolled the page when I was trying to get you guys to talk about your Awe inspiring moments–so I’ll repost:
On the topic of Awe–I guess here are some of mine:
Looking up at the night sky and seeing Hera’s milk
Having a sea turtle come out of nowhere and cross right in front of me on a dive
Having the earth above me and the sky below as the glider I was in did a barrel roll
Walking through the gates and seeing the Taj Mahal lit up by the afternoon sun–the sheer size!
Watching the little rugrats at playing at the mall and realizing that one day they will look at their own little rugrats in pure wonder and feel the same way I did watching them–this by far tops the rest.
Excellent! I love looking at the Milky Way banded across the Orcas sky sometimes when I wake up at like 2:00am. There isn’t much light pollution out there either. I would like to see the night sky on a moonless night while out at sea. Imagining stars from horizon to horizon, wherever you looked.
You’re lucky that you get to see it.
Those are all good.
There are so many, but a few things that come to mind are:
Seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time.
The tulip fields in bloom that were near my house in WA state.
The Lincoln Memorial at dusk.
The ocean. (The smell of the air as you approach it.)
Seeing my daughter on the Jumbo-Tron at an Oregon State football game when she was inducted into the OS Hall of Fame.
The first time I saw my granddaughter, and she looked like a little papoose.
Nice. I like the smell of the ocean too.
I like the tulip fields memory—-I have see fields of wildflowers on my bike trips very cool. The ocean has been part of my life since I was young so I cannot recall the first time I saw it. Rugrats are always awe inspiring.
Those are all good too
Awesome, TG..Lit-up monuments are for me, too!..Papoose..Ha!!….8-)
A couple off the top of my head…
Solo Jumping out of an airplane..LQQK at that and Silence!
Touring Paris, Versailles and London with locals! The History!
A long stare into the eyes of a pet..What are you thinking??
The night sky in my rural existence..The morning sky, too!
The beauty of flower gardens and growing food from seeds and Trees!
Watching my grandson grow..How much did I know at his age?
Oh, and the Hu-man race in general….8-)
Sweet! I toured the Tower of London once. It was pretty cool.
I only got to do London once, but France often..It opened my eyes every time, Liz….8-)
Look at this honyocker,
I saw that and thought…ain’t gonna read this.
Just further evidence that all these 1%ers are human waste. I call the VULTURE CAPITALISTS.
When I saw an orca up close kayaking that filled me with awe.
See Fellowship of the Ring for the first time filled me with awe. No one had any idea what that movie was going to be.
Touching the oldest tree in the world, the biggest tree in the world and the tallest tree in the world filled me with awe
Those are great.
I know what you mean, seeing a beluga in the wild is cool.
wow! how that happen?
On a canoe trip that was part ocean travel. They were on the Eskimo Lakes.
Seeing the orca must have been an amazing experience.
Good evening everyone!
Hooray…I’m am officially NOT on call!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!! The Beer is on Lizard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, Pabst Blue Ribbon for everybody! Nothing but the cheap stuff for my pals.
I’d have to say that I am sometimes in awe of what some of our patients go through. Some people go through real hell but then go home to their families. People that have transplants, Ventricular Assist Devices, ECMO. I’ve seen some really amazing “saves”.
Hi Haruko! How close were you to that orca? I’d love to see one up close in the wild but if it was a couple feet from my boat I might feel a bit nervous!
The orca’s dorsal fin knocked the paddle out of my hands … that’s how close he was. I heard him snickering as he swam away.
Well, I’m glad you didn’t get knocked out of your kayak!
Oh wow!! I might be a little nervous but that would be so cool to experience! I got to dive in the Red Sea and saw a spectacular, awe inspiring underwater environment….absolutely full of color and life…but no orcas! There were sharks though…
The will to live certainly inspire awe.
I’m not sure I could go through what I’ve seen some people endure!
I know I can’t.
Same here, Jack….8-)
I saw my daughter-in-law the night before they found a match for her (liver transplant.,) and I couldn’t help but think that no one could survive in her condition. I have never seen anyone look like that, and the truth is, she wouldn’t have survived without the technology, the care she received from the doctors and nurses, and, most importantly, the donor.
It’s amazing for sure! Hiya tg!
I’m in awe of some of these “saves,” Dood!!….8-)
It’s pretty amazing sometimes, that’s for sure! Good evening 4E!
Hiya bella!!! Long time no see!! How are you and Luca doing!? 🙂
Hi myDood!!! Hangin’ in there. Luca is freakin’ adorable! Went to the spa today!
Ha! You got much snow? I took Clancey around the lake today and we had to go through drifts almost up to my waist! (I’m 6’2″). 4o mph gusts and the tempurature dropped 10F in one hour! Serious blowing snow….it was the most epic hike I’ve ever done here at the lake and Clancey was a trooper…but he probably would rather have been in a warm spa! He did have fun though and of course made new friends with other hikers! 😉
Not a whole lot but more coming tomorrow and the lowest temps of the season on Mon.%$%^%#$ You’re crazy man.
I’m not sure I’ll take Clancey camping if it’s sub zero or low single digits. I think his paws get cold…he’ll take turns holding them up…but then he’ll lay down in the snow!! Crazy pup! I do worry about his paws when it’s super cold…he still likes to play but I think he feels it after a bit!
He’ll thank you for that.I just think that’s the cutest thing.Luca does that ,too. And of course, he does have a “clearance ” problem.HMMM, where have I heard that before?
Haha! Clancey had clearance problems today! He had to plow through some really big drifts that I struggled through!
A very funny line.I have used it more than once.
How’s Clancey? Shouldn’t you be camping… I mean it is frigid out there.
See above :-)…..I was gonna go camping but I took call for the ECMO coordinator so she and her husband could take her mom out for her birthday. I just came off call at 9pm. At least I can have a beer now! 😉
Oh not that many!! I gotta get up early to do laundry….dammnit! I did get a resupply on firewood though! 😉
jk….well you didn’t SAY you had firewood. That changes everything.I’m the devil on your shoulder..sleep in sleep in slee…
Haha! If I didn’t have to get up early I could probably enjoy 5 hanging out here and with the pup! Just as long as I don’t have to set an alarm!
sleep in.. sleep in…sleep i…
You’re so bad!! 😉
Hey you!! Stop talking about your riding!!! I’m getting jealous!! 😉
oh, it was just a lazy 20 mile saunter today.
Shut up!! Shut up!! 😉
Hi you!!! Hmmm would I be a kiddo or a kidda? 😉
Keep giving ’em hell on Raw Story, Basta!
OKAY!!!! I like that place.
The most awesome thing I’ve seen is Jack’s Realm –
and these zuchinnis out of my garden –
Man those would sell well in the farmers market on 14street.
Did you like my video? I ground up a lot of zukes and froze them for bread and soups.
Yum.. love ’em.
Republicans favorite beer is Bud Light.
I swear… They can’t get anything right.
(This map is pretty interesting.)

Advertising’s effect on the conditioned mind. If Cali is cursed with Corona, so be it 😉
Needs a few more bolts! http://www.mytinyphone.com/uploads/users/reddnrowl/508187.gif
If I ever have kids…
Get on it stat!
I’m still figuring out how to put a cover sheet on my TPS report.
start with let’s all get naked and see how it goes.
I am most awed by new life–my pregnancy and the birth of my daughter. Being at her side when she gave birth to her son–watching him come into the world and cutting the cord between them. Watching my dog give birth to her 13 pups. The trees and all coming back to life in the spring. The first glimpse of green coming from the soil as a seed I planted springs to life. A fawn following it’s doe on faltering legs. …
“Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snow, lies a seed that with the sun’s love in the spring becomes a rose.”
I love that song. 🙂
Hi Gramma! Very nice!
sleep in sleep in zzzzleep .
Stop it stop it!! 😉
Maybe a little bit…. 😉
😉 You’re really kinda easy.
I may be cheap, but I’m easy! 😉
Don’t get me started, I love the spring. Watching everything come to life.
How about if we do get started? The only thing that has helped me stay through the harsh Wisconsin winters is looking forward to spring–it’s awesome! 🙂
Panic in Detroit-Bowie(http://youtu.be/Rf0fmqWS-kI)
Nice…Bowie broke the mold.
He was an innovator who borrowed many styles and made them his own LK
I am in awe of the Universe. The pictures Hubble, and other telescopes are getting are mind boggling. The beauty of the far off explosions incomprehensible to us,that have shaped where and what we are
If you are ever in San Francisco check out the Morrison Planetarium at the California Academy of Sciences building in Golden Gate Park. Largest digital planetarium in the world. Really cool show I saw there was a trip thru the know universe. Earth seems like such a dust speck in contrast.
Co-sign. I love astronomy.
The Universe??..Well, that just about covers it, X !! .. 😆 ….8-)
We may be in Multiverse.I was watching the show The Cosmos, and that theory is gaining traction
Infinite multiverse. I’m living it. Hiya, X!
Like the Moon, and the Stars, and the Sun-John Lennon
Speaking of awe, okay Lizard, the next time we get together with Badger, I’m dragging you guys here:
This one downloads to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer
Desktop save written all over it.
Oh, wow!! yes yes yes! Be back after Feb 4th.
Republicans favorite beer is Bud Light.
I swear… They can’t get anything right.
(This map is pretty interesting.)
Wow, Blue Moon is a bigger beer than I thought.
I will have to get it a try.
Oh, I looked it up. Blue Moon owns Coors.
Before I hated Coors politics, I had an affinity for Coors in a can on a hot day. Better than the bottle. Coors Light however is the epitome of redundancy.
Wait. I think Olympia has a lite too. Very silly that.
Or Hamm’s Lite. 😆
Hi tg… yuck any beer that ends in “lite.”
Hi termgirl and Bastal! HOW ARE YA!
Hi…dandy and you!?!!!
Good, this kind of reminds me of weekend nights on the old HP!
Good evening, X.
I’m fine, thanks. Hope you are, as well.
Advertising exploiting the conditioned mind. If Cali is to be cursed with Corona, so be it. 😉
I have been thoroughly brainwashed by the Corona brand.
(Al least I get some Vitamin C from the limes. ; ) )
I guessed WI right!..LOL….8-)
Bud Light: What if we made metallic soapy tasting beer taste weaker? YAY!
Those Clydesdales are just for parades!
I am also in awe of the depths of stupidity the R’s continue to plumb!
I dunno about awe … more dumbfounded.
With the emphasis on DUMB Haruko ( HAI! )
Just when you think they can’t get any more ridiculous they plumb new frontiers!
Their definition of success: Sniff the methane.
Who is this Commie troll that has been coming around? I saw a comment by him where he said “Haw Haw Haw” at the end. There was a troll called Ned something that used that a lot.He is a nasty one if that is him
I thnk that’s exactly who it is.
OOH! I’M SKEERT Bastal!!
I’ll fascia him.(curse)
He seems pretty low powered, repetitive buzzword attacks. I don’t think he knows real nasty.
He was on HP,if that is him,Jack would bounce him if he did become nasty C-8
Jack says he’s his Almond Joy.
I’ve seen that troll before, commie crusher is to docile to be that guy.
Jack wouldn’t allow it waverly. It might not be him
Hi Realmsters, I am in awe of the some of the places I’ve seen in my very limited travels of North America: Niagara Falls on the Canadian side and walking behind the falls. Climbing the Mayan pyramid at Chichen Itza (which they won’t let you do anymore due to erosion). Walking on top of a glacier in Alaska. And standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon. Equally as inspiring as the Grand Canyon were the red rocks of Sedona , which were breath-takingly beautiful and almost magical in appearance. One of the rock formations is on their state stamp.
If I could go to South America I would love to see Machu Picchu.
Hiya wave! I’ve seen the Egyptian pyramids!
The Egyptian pyramids are truly remarkable, and I would love to have been given the opportunity to see them. However, with global politics the way the are, and as an obvious Anglo-American I would not want to travel to Egypt at this point in history.
No..not now. I was lucky. Got to go inside one of them. Saw the Sphinx and the Cairo Museum with the King Tut stuff! Amazing!
That is very cool.
It was! Spent a whole week in Cairo. Met an American living there teaching Egyptians how to fly helicopters. He showed us how to get around and how to haggle….which is apparently a necessity! We were able to see all kinds of cool stuff off the beaten tourist path! No worries about safety!
You were very lucky to have seen everything that you got to see in Egypt. Good memories to have.
That and 200 rolls of Ektachrome 400 slide film!
way cool. Now those are some picture I would like to see.
I need to find some way to preserve them digitally.
Definitely have them transcribed to digital storage.
Yeah…I’m gonna have to look into that. Got a huge box in the closet full of slides!
That like me, one day I’m gonna get all my cd’s uploaded to storage in “the cloud”, lol.
I got a 3 TB external HD I should put to better use.
External storage is gonna be all the rage very soon. The next big thing by some predictions that I’ve read. People who travel will only take the info they need with them for their trip. Everything else will be at home on their external storage. This will happen as more people who travel have their laptops confiscated when they go through customs.
I can see this happening.
All you need do is scan them.
Got to ride a camel around them too!
So you saw several camel toes then.
I kept putting that off to go to beach resorts how I regret that now.
Cool stuff! Haven’t seen the Grand Canyon or Sedona. I have climbed that pyramid even though I have a slight fear of heights. Chichen Itza is all kinds of awesome.
Hi LK, I too thought Chichen Itza was awesome. Who knew this place was there hidden for so long in the middle of the jungle. Going up the pyramid wasn’t all that hard, it was coming down that scared me.
I have been to the Falls on the Canadian side and they really are spectacular.
I hope to see some Mayan ruins at some point.
I had been studying the Mayan civilization for some time, way way before all the 2012 end of the world hype.
I remember when National Geographic did an article on the articles found in that deep pool, the sacrificial one that is in Chichen Itza.
What did they find besides a lot of bones ?
Gold ornaments and jewelry as I recall.
Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like then. Supposedly the original Mayans were not into human sacrifice. That didn’t start happening until they were taken over by the Toltecs. That’s what I have read anyway.
It seems we’ve been to some of the same places, when I visited Chichen Itza THE ONLY THING that was off limits was the chacmool. seems fat ass Americas kept sitting on the plate for a photo and it broke.
I was going to mention the falls truly awe striking especially from the lower observation decks.I missed trips to Alaska definitely on the bucket list.
I am taken with ancient civilizations. Peru is on my bucket list.
Hahahahahahaha!!! WHERE’S NEB? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h–iU49AjTQ
😆 😆 😆 XD!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG, ROTFL. FSTH (FALL STRAIGHT TO HELL)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What’s funny is on the comments, the Bieber fans complaining about the video
🙂 I thought that guy was gonna have a stroke!
I just did. Who are you?
I guess it’s safe to assume he does not approve of Justin Bieber.
