    Hi Everyone!

A little experiment if I may. please read this and give me your thoughts.

    • I will post my reply afterwards.

    • fi says:

Ahh, falling into the Repub plans, its that very behaviour you should be railing against!

    • USAGramma says:

A conscious decision to remain ignorant is equivalent to the decision of an ostrich burying it’s head in the sand, thinking because it cannot see the danger the danger does not exist.

    • Lizard King says:

I totally agree that the obstructionists already have their little hate speeches all planned out. The Glen Becks of the world rubbing their little gnome-like hands together and salivating.
But, it is most important that the Americans who see thru the bullshit get right in their faces.

    • This is propaganda!….8-)

    • Ricki Lee says:

Ignoring the ConsTPation will not make the obstruction go away. If anything, by listening to their chit, it should serve to keep us fired up to fight off our own voter apathy which seems to prevail in our party, and make a commitment to become more involved, individually, and work harder to ensure that people turn up to vote these bastids out of office. Hard to fight fire with fire when you don’t have any spark.

    • nebdem says:

      Interesting!

    • waverly says:

The President in this evenings SOTU will not sufficiently address the needs of the American people. What he will offer are but meager crumbs designed to assuage the public who have been suffering dearly at the hands of a failing economy, while having to witness the unmitigated largess of Wall Street, the banking system, and multinational corporations.

Then the clown car of knucklehead obstructionists will regurgitate their noxious venom, while nothing of what they intimate will even be remotely grounded in reality.

Do I intend to watch any of it ? HA!

      • waverly says:

I will record it so I can confirm or refute the crappy analysis I will be forced to endure for the rest of the week.

        • USAGramma says:

Might I suggest you don’t record it, since you know as well as Jack’s “R” example what will be said, and avoid the crappy analysis as well?

  3. Here is my response:

Rl is the epitome of self-defeating action or rather inaction. Nowadays, in reality ever since Pres. Obama picked Jeffrey R. Immelt to head the economic recovery advisory Board, I have a hard time not having a Tourette’s moment every time Pres. Obama screws up. Having said that I can tell you I still support the president for the exact same reasons R is giving up.

This “bailing out” happens all the time with many so-called “PROGRESSIVE” individuals as the midterm elections approach— Their cry is always the same “OBSTRUCTION, OBSTRUCTION, OBSTRUCTION!!!”. Rather than not tune in why not organize a group go to a bar or an ice cream parlor and watch it and take what is said and make it relevant to the people in your neighborhood? Then have that same group go around knocking on doors, even if they get slam on your face 1000 times, and educate people who may be wallowing in self-defeating heartache and light a fire under people’s ass.

I see that R lives in the cesspool of Republican mediocrity known as Texas, how I envy R; being a New Yorker I have the polar opposite experience, everyone here is a Democrat for the most part.
I will curse, I will knock down small furniture and I will shake my fist at the sky whenever Obama uses his power weakly and feebly but G-d Almighty (if there is such a creature) I can never be a R. I choose to watch Pres. Obama. I will watch it for Raul; he can enjoy the entire Dexter series on Netflix.

DID I GET HIM WRONG, DID I -OTHER THAN CALLING HIM EPITOME OF SELF-DEFEAT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT HIM NOT BEING INVOLVED POLITICALLY?

    • USAGramma says:

I will also watch, Jack. I choose to be informed.

    • nebdem says:

After reading the post above and your response, I don’t feel you got him wrong in your response. What R wrote is a cop-out, an excuse for not tuning in. I really don’t have a desire to watch it, but I will watch it. R makes some fair points as to what many expect, but it isn’t a pro-active response, more like a justification made on their part why they don’t want to watch it, not certain why they went through the trouble of writing it all down as they did. They could have easily said something else than what they posted.

      • This letter is intended to promote APATHY in Democrats..What person who supports EVERY ONE of the Presidents policies NOT watch the SOTU and say such a thing??….8-)

        • nebdem says:

Greetings, Four Eyes! Good point. The apathy though is an ingrained condition in my opinion because the DNC fails to stress the importance of the Midterm elections to the base.

          • That, too, neb. The DNC just needs to run clips of Stupid Things Republicans Said in local races a month before election time..along with their voting record..and the seat is half won!….8-)

    • waverly says:

“DID I GET HIM WRONG, DID I -OTHER THAN CALLING HIM EPITOME OF SELF-DEFEAT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT HIM NOT BEING INVOLVED POLITICALLY?

      Why do you ask ?

    • Ricki Lee says:

      Well said, Jack!

Apathy is a choice and is the wrong decision, imo. If we all make this choice, we will never effect the much-needed change!

  4. nebdem says:

    Greetings!

  5. I will have a stream of the State of the Union and a commentary, especially of the repunks.

As far as that post by R—I think he is a good dem( these are the people we need to bring back to the fold) but like so many have given in to Republicans–this is by the example of the POTUS, my opinion.

    • Lizard King says:

Yep. The Republicans big hope all along is that their own obstructionism will be blamed on the President instead of them.

    • Ricki Lee says:

With that said, I believe the obstructionism and brinkmanship that we have experienced under this President’s Administration has been unprecedented. To wit, no playbook to fight back on their level. To a certain extent, I believe our POTUS has been wearing a strait jacket and has proved he’s no Houdini. I would tend to believe that he has done much second guessing of his own and would probably make different decisions if given the opportunity to go back. At this point, it seems we are just running down the clock here and my only hope is that we are able to win the Midterms and Nationals and be afforded a new beginning.

      • nebdem says:

A three-week media blitz by the DNC before the Midterms is all I expect them to do since they sure aren’t making a big issue right now about how important a strong showing in the Midterm elections will be.

        • I have no word other than I agree.

        • Ricki Lee says:

If that is your contention, have you given any thought to getting involved locally to insure that this is not the case?

          • We need Koch money!Democrats are too passive and cheap.

            • Ricki Lee says:

Now you sound like R!! You’re giving in to the ConsTPation and their way of getting it done. We need boots on the ground!! And, yes that is about people giving their time for free!

          • classicalgastoo says:

You tell him, Sis – welcome to my soapbox!

          • nebdem says:

Getting involved locally here is a nice idea, but I have to stress that when the Republicans in the state redrew the 2nd Congressional District that it put any Democratic voice or the chance by Democrats at a voice out of play. I know it sounds defeatist, but to be honest, bluntly honest it is a fact, and hoping to change it isn’t going to change the conditions. Yes, it is good to be more involved locally, but not in this state.

            • And just who allowed them to do that, please don’t get this wrong by pointing at politicians.

              • nebdem says:

The state has more Republicans and will continue to have more Republicans no matter what type of messaging the Democrats use to turn the tide. It can be blamed on the Democrats for sure, but the numbers of registered voters don’t lie, there are only 2 sections in this state where the Democrats can make up marginal ground: Omaha and Lincoln. Omaha was knocked asunder by the majority of Democrats and by the failure of the DNC to build off the gains made in the 2008 election- they wrote the state off, we are now fly-over territory.

It is easy to blame it on the Democrats here, but come here and see how hard it is for even a sliver to be made that has anything more than an appearance quality.

                • waverly says:

I fought back in two states. Florida and Arizona. If I can do ti Neb, so can YOU.

                • nebdem says:

Florida and Arizona are completely different states with a completely different demographic break down.

                • waverly says:

But I can guarantee the climate in either of those states is far more inhospitable to Democrats than in Nebraska.

                • classicalgastoo says:

The point you consistently miss, neb, is that WE are the Democrats! It’s easy to sit and whine about the state of things. It takes a bit more to get out there and try to change things.

                • nebdem says:

Yes, WE are the Democrats. It is a lot easier to have the confidence to hope for those things when there is a reasonable chance. Why should the Democrats here try anyways to make more gains? Once they do the DNC will turn their back on them and every Democrat around the country living in a State that has a normal chance every election cycle will start bad mouthing the Democrats that do get elected because they are Blue-Dogs, because they have to be Blue Dogs, or else they wouldn’t even have the chance in the fist place to getting elected.

            • Ricki Lee says:

Is there no other District held by a Dem?
