    I have one beet story.
My grandmother was a very creative type.
She made hard-boiled eggs and “dyed” them in pickled beet juice. They turned out a very interesting color.; resented them surrounding something on a plate… don’t remember what, exactly.
Anyway…. what are the chances of having some leftover beet juice when you need it?
    Ahhhhh…… memories.

    Hello, all.

I hope they upload it somewhere on the interweb. It was amazing to see how fast and agile they were going through the course. It didn’t matter what place they finished in, it was an amazing thing regardless!

I enjoy the irony in calling Danes “barbaric” for killing a giraffe while here in the US we kick the poor to the curb. If Denmark were not one of the highest functioning societies in the world, you know morality without religion and happiness there might be an argument. But I decided I don’t have a problem with what they did. I am however disappointed because I’ve always viewed zoos as conservation orgaisations built around increasing public awareness of critical habitat.

    • classicalgastoo says:

Hi, Copper. I have mixed feelings about it. I wish they could have sent the animal to a zoo that was willing to take him and didn’t have the inbreeding issue.

    • termgirl says:

Some zoos are better than others.
Some at least try to provide a more natural habitat for the animals.
I don’t like seeing wild animals in cages.
Giraffes are pretty incredible creatures. I just think it’s sad they couldn’t find another option, other than using that animal for lion meat. A lot of animal treatment is pretty disgraceful, especially on factory farms.

    • In a practical way this is a great lesson. “The reason some species of Giraffes are considered endangered is due to active hunting by poachers, a slow rate of breeding and armed conflict in Somalia, Ethiopia and some parts of Kenya which are their primary habitats.”
