KEEP THE ANNOTATIONS ON FOR THIS CLIP.
” A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.”
The blessing and the curse.
Oscar Wilde used to stay at the old, Cliff Walk Hotel, in Newport. It’s a beautiful spot, if you’ve never seen it. One of my friends has the pool table from the old hotel. We always think of Oscar when we play on that table. Did he, or didn’t he spend some time standing at that table?
Interesting…three and half years ago went to the city of Dublin, what a rich history. The hotel is in midtown access to museums, university and the shopping area. Ther next door was a 3 story,or two..building was the house of OW. Across the street was a park . There was a large stone ( hill) top of that was a statue of the author with a pipe in his mouth with a smirk in his face looking at the world.
Friendly people, taxi drivers are all like historians, museums you do not need a guide the security in the rooms will fill you in, all you have to do is ask and I did.

Why I choose to look at the world through the eyes of TV drama. Of course we all know television is the furthest thing from reality, right. However, TV dramas are written by real people who acquire their creative ideas from real life situations. As such any one particular program is a time capsule of the viewing audience zeitgeist made manifest on the small screen.
Why do series like Vince Gilligan’s BrBa resonate so with our collective consciousness ? Because on an emotional gut level we can all identify with the dilemma of the characters created for our viewing pleasure. The series dénouement provides us with the much needed cathartic release we so seldom experience in our own real lives. How many people only wish they had the cojones to ride off into the sunset together like Wilson and House.
But how real are our “real lives”? Are they not merely a creation of our mind painted on the canvas of what we perceive to be our banal worldly existence ? There was a song I remember from the 90’s with a line that very succinctly sums up the angst of our existential experience “life is the longest form of suicide”. But we keep on searching for that magic moment in “real life” which explains why we’re here. And so it goes.
“All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts”
Indeed. All that remains is but to have a good laugh, for none of it is real. Tonight I think I’ll have the alternate ending to BrBa, where Hal wakes up in bed with Lois in a scene setting stolen from Malcolm in the Middle (LOL, just kidding).
Very good except for the spoiler part.
Hey, I can take that out

He’s in the far east right now. They still have some more shows, ending in New Zealand. I wonder what he’ll do?

This is a very interesting story. It’s about Fred Phelps’ son. Fred Phelps was apparently kicked out of his own church last August.
He has a bloody cheek, not wanting folk to protest his fathers funeral.
The AP reports that Nathan Phelps “said he has no doubt some people would want to protest his father’s funeral but added, ‘I wish they wouldn’t.’ “
Hi CBD, any scrambled egg news?
