What Is Your Political Identity?

Oh, pooh! I missed the entire thingamajig about Maher Vs Affleck.

All I gotta say, as I did before and went ignored
( https://jackholesrealm.wordpress.com/2014/10/03/your-weekend-madness-party-page/comment-page-13/#comment-864987is that Maher does have a stake in being politically incorrect but that does not mean he’s wrong. While Islam is a Religion, ask any Muslim and you’ll see that to them is more like a cultural entity; here in America we are American first, then we’re everything else. To Muslims, you are a Muslim above it all– To those agitated liberals I say, stop the bastardization of  Islam to prop up your crumbling Liberal principles.

I think the main reason people are pissed is the fact that he so GLORIOUSLY called out liberals on their hypocrisy, mind you I consider myself one but I think that my definition of LIBERALISM is not the watered down, mommy blog, eco-terrorist, Al Gore loving  ( mind you the guy is rich as  fuck and acts accordingly—you can ask any of the many current TV outcasts they found out the hard way—although, lack of LIBERAL support is ultimately responsible for current closing its door—-WAY too many people  were in a  endless Huffington Post SAVE OBAMA circle jerk to even notice or care).

So, the intent of this post is to define ( at least for me ) how people see themselves in relation to the way collectively people who are not Conservative, Right-wing, Tea Party, Far Left are defined.

I suppose my brand of Liberalism is what I inherited from my parents, of course as any individual I explored my own ethos to arrive at my beliefs:

Inviolability of our individual rights

Our right peacefully assemble

Social programs

Free elections

Freedom of religion

LGBT rights

Minority rights, mainly to protect against discrimination–I’m on the fence on Affirmative action

Affordable healthcare—I still maintain Obama sabotage any chance Democrats will see single payer healthcare

Well, you get the gist… I really don’t care about the ON THE BOOKS definition of Liberalism classical/neo or something else—these things tend to crumble when applied to individuals.

My personal experience has been that if I or someone else in any kind of forum, online or in public, expresses skepticism about the LIBERAL status quo they are marginalized and quite often bullied.

So tell me, what’s your political identity?

An important work—the light play and colors are harbinger of darkness and greatness — ‘the artist wants to create a painting that emphasized its frontal plane in a way that would echo the AGONY behind it, suggesting the ARCHETYPE character of the painting’s shape. Indeed, the work echoes its own edges with its two interior border markings, and even replicates itself in two panels, yet it denies any allusion to a window, the conventional association that has accompanied the framed panel or canvas since Renaissance times.’

New York ComicCon: ‘Cosplay Is Not Consent’

Year after year, stories emerge about sexism at comic conventions: Groping, upskirt photos, and sexual harassment of all stripes. But at New York ComicCon this weekend, respect for women is on the agenda.

Amazing that cosplay culture can confront upskirt photos when federal judges can’t.

Massachusetts leading the way again on healthcare reform

A new law in Massachusetts mandates transparency in healthcare services pricing, allowing anyone in the state with private health insurance to go to their insurer’s website and find out how much a given procedure—office visit or MRI—is going to cost. That’s actually pretty huge, as WBUR’s Martha Bebinger reports in conjunction with Kaiser Health News.

It’s a seismic event. Ten years ago, I filed Freedom of Information Act requests to get cost information in Massachusetts—nothing. Occasionally over the years, I’d receive manila envelopes with no return address, or secure .zip files with pricing spreadsheets from one hospital or another.
Then two years ago, Massachusetts passed a law that pushed health insurers and hospitals to start making this once-vigorously guarded information more public. Now as of Oct. 1, Massachusetts is the first state to require that insurers offer real-time prices by provider in consumer-friendly formats.

“This is a very big deal,” said Undersecretary for Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation Barbara Anthony. “Let the light shine in on health care prices.”
