Time to review some of 2015 baddies, New and Old:
U.S. Foreign Arms Deals Increased Nearly $10 Billion in 2014
These greedy bahstids …
From their meeting notes: “In the same 1980 meeting the task force also heard from Professor John Laurmann of Stanford University on possible conversion to alternate energy sources. Laurmann advised the task force of the potentially catastrophic consequences with continued global warming if fossil fuel consumption continued unabated. From the meeting minutes of Laurmann’s presentation to the API task force:
1 C Rise (2005): BARELY NOTICEABLE
2.5 C Rise (2038): MAJOR ECONOMIC CONSEQUENCES, STRONG REGIONAL DEPENDENCE
5 C Rise (2067): GLOBALLY CATASTROPHIC EFFECTS”
I gotta be honest here, as far as smoking guns go, this one seems a little too good to be true. The source here is a former API task-force director. Is he trying to clear the record or save his bacon? I’d be curious to know if there has there been any third party confirmation as to the authenticity of these documents?
Doubling Down on W
“2015 was, of course, the year of Donald Trump, whose rise has inspired horror among establishment Republicans and, let’s face it, glee — call it Trumpenfreude — among many Democrats. But Trumpism has in one way worked to the G.O.P. establishment’s advantage: it has distracted pundits and the press from the hard right turn even conventional Republican candidates have taken, a turn whose radicalism would have seemed implausible not long ago.”
Paul Krugman is on the mark here MS.
$250,000 a Year Is Not Middle Class (damn right it’s not!)
“HILLARY CLINTON has vowed not to raise taxes on the middle class.
It’s a pledge that has worked well for others on the campaign trail before her, a resonant assurance to voters who saw themselves as middle class or aspired to be. But it’s a bad promise.
Mrs. Clinton is using a definition of middle class that has long been popular among Democratic policy makers, from her husband to Barack Obama when he was a candidate: any household that makes $250,000 or less a year. Yet this definition is completely out of touch with reality….”
True MS. I thought I was middle class but never made 250,000 a year.
we’ve all been led to believe we’re middle-class, and now we’re all poor!
No indictment in Tamir Rice case, prosecutor says
On the naughty list:
The MEDIA—For more often than not rising to meet Fox News standards.
I’m going to do a short 2015 nice list page because I KNOW most of you won’t know what to do with it–yes, this is a gentle change.
Thanks Jack, I know people aren’t used to it. But I for one could use a little “nice” right about now. “Gentle” is a good thing. So is “kind”.
be one-helluva short-list in Murica, like Bernie, Elizabeth Warren, err… damn I’ve already run outta candidates!
Please include these two officers.
Texas Police Officers Give Down on Luck Dad Car Seats for 3 Young Daughters Instead of Tickets
Two Texas police officers have received praise after they made a judgment call to buy car seats for a father instead of ticketing him during a recent traffic stop.
On Saturday, Officer Justin Gower of the Cedar Park Police Department pulled over the truck because it apparently had expired registration and a malfunctioning light, according to local television station KVUE.
As Gower spoke to the driver, he saw three little girls sitting in the back without car seats. He suddenly recalled hearing about the man from other law enforcement personnel, the station reported.
Gower called another Cedar Park policeman, Officer Cale Hawkins, who had spoken with the father several weeks ago. Hawkins told the station they were living in a hotel at the time, according to the TV station.
Recognizing the family was down on their luck, Gower and Hawkins decided to buy the girls — ages 1, 3 and 4 — car seats instead of ticketing the father.
“Giving him three tickets, it wasn’t going to do any good,” Gower told KVUE. “Those kids were still going to have to be driven somewhere, somehow with no car seats.”
Said Hawkins: “We just kind of stepped off to the side and said we need to kind of do the right thing and get these people some car seats.”
What a great thing these police did Tio.
Are you going to post a separate page for this ? That’s what it seemed like you were saying.
“Two things fill the mind with ever-increasing wonder and awe, the more often and the more intensely the mind of thought is drawn to them: the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me.”

The Plutocrats Are Winning. Don’t Let Them!

I’m sure that helps a lot, cuz that business is so corrupt, damn! gotta know someone…
It really, really does, MS–the auto sales business is worse, tho’….8-)
I know I knew a guy worked in it for awhile, he told me stories of the salesmen sitting around making jokes all the time about how badly they screwed people over.
Conservative gets convicted, dodges prison time, and is convinced the liberals are behind it all
Ha! the author has the same “respect” for the “national review” as I do! The idea, promoted by some that it was at some mythical time actually half-way respectable? I completely reject the idea as pure lunacy! Only in the eye of it’s own “faithful” was there ever anything but lunatic punditry and egotistical pseudo-intellectualism spewed from that hellish oriface! Shat-up I dare say from hell-itself! (it’s creator, in all his neo-feudal xristian arrogance)
not so good to be the great un-washed masses of the peasantry though….
I like the Tom Petty song, but it’s pretty darn creepy, it’s actually about Mark David Chapman.
Funny how conservatives who berate others about personal responsibility never seem to take any.
and the red states are the biggest users of all that federal “welfare” money…
Jack, where did you go ? Are you still around ?
May he RIP.
“We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words. We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please… play Motörhead loud.”
This guy was a huge influence on so many people.

Scott Ian’s short story about Lemmy
Oh, no! I loved Hawkwind, back in the 70’s. Safe travels, Lemmy. 😦
Bestest fridge ever
HA! Great Darth.
Is that a hoarder starter kit? 😀
Hey Darth. After losing money when the bubble burst my broker put the rest in high yield treasury bills. The market was breaking records a year ago and I ask him if we should put back in the market. His advise was no. He said in a matter of time there would be a correction. Has that happened or a year later still waiting.
I am not a stock broker. I do not play the market. I would not invest with a broker either, I don’t trust them. So I’m probably the last person to ask. That being said, T-bills are a much, much safer investment than the market. The “correction” he’s talking about is probably an understatement, considering.
See how I respect your opinion. 🙂 No doubt I wish I had not chose the market or a broker. Hindsight. I’ll just stay in T bills. I guess I can just google what a correction is. I’m sure it’s not good. Thanks Darth.
It’s an innocuous-sounding word for flushing your money down the tubes.
Also a lot less scary than the dreaded R word (recession).
In other words Stocks are over valued as they probably are with the market breaking records. Stocks drop letting investors buy them cheaper. If stocks I have drop in value I lose money.
Let me put it this way. when something’s overvalued, eventually it’s going to bottom out. That’s a correction. When the housing bubble popped, that was technically a correction too, promptly followed by a recession.
Sort of like we were discussing about breaking the banks up. If some stocks hold there value the correction might not last as long but one way or another people lose money. I guess my broker advised me right. Stay out of the market. That’s been a year but I’m sure they don’t know when this will happen. Do I have this right?
8yr. old gives 1300 toys to cancer patients.
guess I shoulda waited for the description. so, reverse hoarding then.
I should have put that first but my cold pills making me loony, That is more then usual. 🙂
I know that feeling fk,lol. Loony!
I don’t know which is worst X the cold or cold pills 🙂 How are you doing? Hopefully better.
Improving fk,I have to start doing more about my diet,I did some reading today and got some ideas. No coffee though( ouch!)
Good to hear your improving X. No coffee. That would hurt me but only in the morning. It’s really hard to change your diet if you can’t eat what you like. You can do it!
I think I will have a smoothie instead! I will have to look up some recipes
That sounds good X. You can find a lot on the web. Smoothie sounds good now that you mention it.
WOW! Do the Lads still got it?
OH yes X. Those are great numbers. Still a lot of Beatle fans out there. As famous as they were it doesn’t surprise me.
65% who streamed it were under 35!
That’s great X. A new generation of fans.
That’s a lot of songs.
Giant Spray Painted Murals by Artist XAV
The best art is not always in a museum.
They are beautiful Darth. To do this with a spray can takes talent.
On the NAUGHTY list:
Yeah, he knows what he did!
What? What do they have in his hand? Our president is not naughty. 😛
Looks like a spray can. Maybe he paints too. 🙂
That’s and air horn, to drown out the voice of the citizens.
Never. He loves us citizens.
as long as we “know our place”…
HA! Just having fun with Jack MS.

I was going to post a nice list but I know you’re going to add him so I’m not giving you the chance.
Not fair Jack. I have a picture ready.
That’s how he summons the unicorn.
Or his Bots. Except fancy she’s no bot but I’m sure she has a direct line to the WH 😉
BAD Jack Bad!!
She’s gonna kick you in the aluminum shins for that one.
So worth it.
Jack is picking on me now your doing it too Darth. I like our president. Without him we would have had McCain / Palin or Mitt. 🙂
A Palin administration would have been a gift from the comedy Gods.
He’s a Brit. Is he funny Darth. Sarah Palin would have been really funny in the WH. 😦
He’s hilarious. From monty python
That was funny Darth. I haven’t seen monty python in a long time.
He is, frakking Darth is soooooo wrong. He can’t help it, it’s the Dark side.
