    Dear Realm
The last time I checked for election dates, the Iowa caucuses will be held on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, followed by the New Hampshire primary on Feb. 9, the Nevada caucuses on Feb. 20, and the South Carolina primary on Feb. 27. Then there are 12 states who have their primary/caucus date set for March 1.

Do any of you have a list of reliable “go to” sites for this information ?

MAR 1 is “Super Tuesday,” Wavey..lotsa delegates in play….8-)

      • waverly says:

Yeah I get that, I see the words “Super Tuesday” around a lot on the interwebs, but without a concrete list of specific states and dates, the expression has no meaning for me. Information is power. And it would help hesitant voters to show up if they know exactly when and where they need to go.

This is an interesting comparison of the various sectors and where they are spending their dollars…

pure-EVIL -period!- an ABOMINATION! as long as the military-industrial budget just keeps growing, as they build out yet ever more military bases across the planet, the insani-tea will never end.

      • 4E 2016 says:

They’re not gonna like Bernie much, MS!….8-)

        • MSolomon2 says:

definitely not! as it should be! NOT supposed to be “friends” with those you’re over-seeing/regulating! That’s a reich-wing obscenity.

long past over-due time for Murica’s imperialism to end.

But..but..but..Africa is untapped and the terrrsts will win!.. 😉 ….8-)

                • MSolomon2 says:

It’s gotta be the m.i.c’s newest plan in-the-works, cuz you know China’s been going hard in Africa and that just will not do! Murica gunna have to get in there before the commies over-run the place! Nothing less then the fate of the Murican EMPIRE at stake!

                • 4E 2016 says:

The Pentagon has plans to build 5 bases in Africa to protect our interests..er, fight terrrsts….8-)

oh they are always building more aren’t they! there can never be enuff to ensure Murica’s EMPIRE! but it’s a failed system, it’s bankrupting the country as surely as the old Soviet-Union bankrupted itself trying to maintain a failed system.

                • 4E 2016 says:

It’s only failed for the 99%, MS..Geez, give the 0.1% credit, would ya?.. 😉 ….8-)

when we rise up and EXTERMINATE them it won’t be a win for them 🙂

    • waverly says:

If we can get Bernie elected there’s a very good chance to get congress and the senate back under democratic control.

    • fancykat says:

“The non-profit political donation was strictly pushed by the right and given a green light by the right wing members of the Supreme Court. To turn around and blame this on Harry Reid is a bold and shocking lie. Citizen’s United is strictly right wing and it does no good for the SEC to implement a knowingly unConstitutional law. Bonderman is busy playing footsie with Putin, he’d say or do anything for money. To sit here and twist the true evil of CEOs and their total hold over the GOP party is exactly what’s wrong with this country. We will get nowhere with the GOP. At least with Democrats we have some rue champions like Elizabeth Warren & Bernie Sanders, and then you turn around and slander them a communist or socialist kooks.”

Why are the US primary elections so complicated? Sheeeeesh. I used to think that all primary elections were closed. But there are ones that are “open”.

open primary definition. A type of direct primary open to voters regardless of their party affiliation. Voters need not publicly declare their party affiliation but must vote for candidates of only one party. The opposite is a closed primary, in which only registered members of a party may vote.

Then I learned about such a thing as a “caucus”. Which gets really complicated.

It seems that each state has its own unique process and deadlines and even those seem to change on the fly.

If anyone can shed additional light on this process PLEASE DO it would be greatly appreciated.

  8. waverly says:

For anyone reading this in Colorado – FYI

Tomorrow is the last day to register as a Democrat to be able to take part in the caucus.

    • waverly says:

In Iowa it says party registration is available on caucus night. But in Colorado you have to be registered ahead of time.
