“Follow your bliss.
If you do follow your bliss,
you put yourself on a kind of track
that has been there all the while waiting for you…”― Joseph Campbell
You may ask yourself ( Waverly trigger) what does the inspirational Joseph Campbell quote has to do with Donald Trump?
I don’t know exactly when it happened, could have been when the seemingly vibrant economy of the 90’s was taking place, maybe it was when Slick Willie moved the Clinton Foundation offices to Harlem. It doesn’t matter when or how it happened what matters is the effect…America patted itself for having extinguished one of the greatest social evils, RACISM. Sure there were bigots but they were looked on as nothing but the old system moribund terminal breaths.
Then came the Tea Party; far too many Liberal dismissed them as inconsequential–Oh, that kooky Sarah Palin and her crazy bunch– the Tea Party responded by giving us some of the most unstable individuals that politics had seen since the days of the KKK. The American public thought, “this is it” it can’t get any worse—well, it did in Donald Trump.
The hate culture we’re experiencing is not a resurgence, it’s an affirmation that racism has always been simmering in the background and alive all along. I think that it is far better to have the hate mongers reveling themselves; at least this time we have an opportunity to stand up and drive them down- If anything is true is that their message is clear ‘ we’re still here, strong as we ever been.’
So, yes! Bigots follow your DISS the best troglodyte you can be, I personally rather see you coming.
