Happy Valentine’s Day: Love Exciting and New

“Love? A blip on the monitor of involuntary human response. A hiccup of emotion when compared with envy, hatred, lust. And just who was this Saint Valentine? A bishop, Roman, Third Century, got his head sliced off… ouch. For marrying lovers against his emperor’s decree. You see, Claudius The Second believed that men made better warriors unmarried. Power comes with the absence of love. Love…drains us of our strength. We never learn, do we? And you say that love conquers all. Well not for you, Saint Valentine. Not for me. Not for any of the… heartbroken.”~Lucien LaCroix

Yes, today I will meme you all so if you want to whine and start a hate fest over it tough luck 😛  ❤️❤️❤️

    Story highlights
GOP lawmakers complain the act has had a negative impact on drilling, logging and mining
Environmentalists who support the law say the Endangered Species Act is not broken
(CNN)The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee held a hearing Wednesday with Republicans focused on curbing the Endangered Species Act, the latest front in the conservative push to rein in regulations they see as harmful to business.

The law is a flashpoint: The agriculture industry says it imposes far-reaching regulatory burdens. James Holte of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation told the committee, “farmers and ranchers consider it their personal responsibility to be stewards of the land. However, the ESA creates many challenges for them to balance agriculture production with wildlife habitat.”
Republican lawmakers have also complained the Endangered Species Act has had a negative impact on drilling, logging and mining. They’ve argued it has hampered economic growth in these industries and expressed frustration that animals that reach recovery status are not de-listed.
And many who want to see the law relaxed believe it tramples on their property rights by imposing restrictions on how they can use their land. They’re calling for a higher threshold for supporting data and research that justifies putting an animal on the endangered species list before invoking federal power over an individuals’ land.
Environmentalists who support the law say the Endangered Species Act is not broken nor is it in need of “modernization.”

The Iron Hand of a Mercenary: Made for a 16th century German knight …

Götz von Berlichingen, also known as Götz of the Iron Hand, was a famous German mercenary knight employed by the lords and kings of the time to do their bidding.

He was active in numerous campaigns during a period of 47 years (1498–1544), including the German Peasants’ War, besides numerous feuds; in his autobiography he estimates that he fought 15 feuds in his own name, besides many cases where he lent assistance to friends, including feuds against the cities of Cologne, Ulm, Augsburg and the Swabian League, as well as the Bishop of Bamberg.

Must be nice to be one of the elites that can just ‘misremember’ things when talking to authorities.

FBI not expected to pursue charges against Flynn: report http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/320031-no-fbi-charges-expected-for-flynn-report
“FBI interviewers don’t believe Flynn intentionally mislead them during an interview last month, despite Flynn not remembering all he talked about in a call with Russian envoy Sergey Kislyak where he discussed sanctions, CNN reported.

Reports emerged earlier Thursday that Flynn told FBI agents he did not discuss U.S. sanctions against Russia with Kislyak in December. Flynn’s answers during his Jan. 24 FBI interview contradicts reports about his past phone calls with Kislyak.”

    • Fancy Jack says:

Is misremembering something similar to saying I don’t recall 21 times?

    • Fancy Jack says:

Does the FBI ever pursue charges against anyone not named Escobar?

      • Darth says:

Sure, try to sell generic prescription drugs that poor people can actually afford and see what happens.

        • Fancy Jack says:

I saw this episode when it first aired and it was about COUNTERFEIT shit that make it to consumers hands, not about actual generic drugs from Canada, Cory Booker killed that for most Americans.

          • Darth says:

Chemistry isn’t the sole property of America or Canada. The word “counterfeit” is often analogous with unlicensed. Many drugs are made worldwide that are perfectly serviceable for their application, even if without permission. Remember Pharma bro, the guy that bought a cheap drug and hiked the price elevendy billion times? Well that happens all the time, in his case it was just so blatant because pyrimethamine is so easily made, which made the price hike totally unjustifiable. India makes it too, for about “US$0.04 to US$0.10 each”.

But drugs from India isn’t as catchy as drugs from Canada, it’s true, that’s false advertising. That being said, it’s also true that there are people that will pawn sawdust, or worse, off as vitamins and medicine. But as far as I know no one died in this case. I’m not promoting knock off drugs here, it’s a gamble big time, it’s just that I understand that sometimes people have to do what they have to do in this world.

            • Fancy Jack says:

I get the unlicensed angle. pathetic that the brand name non generic meds being sold in Canada and Europe are often a great deal cheaper but big pharma goons rip the American people off with the help of our legislators. Having said that, desperate people are often targets of evil mofos, not worth the risk , before I went to India my friends warned me about the Wild West pharmacies there, so it’s more than being catchy. I had a walking pharmacy of my own with all I took.

              • Darth says:

                “not worth the risk”

Ask yourself this question, honestly: When is the last time you were not able to get medicine that you needed, desperately or otherwise, because you couldn’t afford it. That reality may change your outlook on “risk”.

    Holy shit!

I’ve been watching today’s DT press conference, the man is unhinged. I prefer when he is on medication and answers very lethargic.

  11. Fancy Jack says:

This will be commonplace in Donald Trump’s America.

    Innocence Project

    Christopher Ochoa
    Time Served: 13 Years
Nancy DePriest was raped and murdered in her work place in Austin, Texas in 1988. Chris Ochoa pled guilty to the murder of DePriest and his friend, Richard Danziger, was convicted of rape. Ochoa had confessed to the crime and had implicated Danziger. It would be discovered, however, that his confession was coerced and that neither man had anything to do with the slaying or raping of DePriest.

you’re correct this is exactly the kind of “society” the Fuehrer will bring. More of the reich-wing appearance of ABSOLUTE “law & order” regardless of any actual substance (because they don’t care about actual Justice, only appearances, only their beliefs)

    • Classical Gas says:

What, you expect them to prosecute a couple of “good ole boys” who were just having some fun? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
