France: Jour d’élection

Viva le albinos nain por. . .nevermind wrong topic.

In France there’s this little election. A macaroni and a pen are facing each other in a run-off election. Prediction: People will dump massive amounts of escargot in the ocean, there will be a run on baguette,  the guillotine will return to rue de la roquette, people will burn Berets and stripy shirts. . .hopefully they’ll permanently ban mimes –well we should all be in support of the mime ban no matter  political ideologies we subscribe to.

Well that’s how the average right-winger might think of the French election,  There are certain commonalities between the US 2016  general elections and the French run off; mainly in the political ideologies of the candidates, the  independent centrist, economically liberal, socially progressive  Emmanuel Macron is economically liberal, socially progressive,  and the far-right’s  isolationist, protectionist, Marine Le Pen that threatens leaving the EU.

But what should be of interest to Americans and more importantly, countries facing a strong resurgence of the far right; is that although Macron is the most likely to win, the extremist support Le Pen has forced ( also like in the US low turnout at the polls) this run-off election.

France is an informal barometer of things to come–remember that in the US HER could not lose right?

      Hey new dawn,
On the auspicious moment of birth reveal again

May you blazon as mist as you adjuorn like the Sun

Piercing breast of maze reveal yourself yet again

May the joys of life reveal again
May upon you the infinite eternal daze unveil once again.

Conch shells resound on eastern horizon, and so in my heart .
resounds the eternal dawn On the day of my revelation.

Tagore wrote this on his own Birthday.
Mrs. M S Subbhalakshmi performed on Gandhi`s birthday.

NB: Just take a look at her facial expression, what a gem she was. ❤

Is that a bust of Gandhi in the background?

Syfy picks up Krypton and Happy!, developing George R.R. Martin’s Nightflyers
    http://www.blastr.com/2017-5-11/syfy-picks-krypton-and-happy-developing-george-rr-martins-nightflyers

Krypton and Happy! join a 2017-2018 line-up that includes The Expanse, The Magicians, Killjoys, Channel Zero and 12 Monkeys. Nightflyers is part of an expanded development slate at Syfy, which includes projects based on Brave New World, Dan Simmons’ novel Hyperion and Stranger in a Strange Land, based on Robert Heinlein’s novel of the same name.

Now if someone would just do Wild Cards! (there has been talk of it “in development”, but if it’ll ever see the light of day…) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Cards

R.R. Martin? Let me guess, everybody dies.

the first books, the stories by some good people, after those authors stopped they went downhill some. There were some sad noteable deaths… but interested 3 dimensional characters. “comic book” characters done well. Not simple black&white good&evil at all. “The Sleeper” is a great character, and “Demise”. http://www.wildcardsonline.com/characters-d.html
If this show ever comes to life hope they have those great characters from the early books.
