We truly live in a fallen-age! – even the DICKtators and would-be DICKtators are pathetic these days! Where are the likes of those greats of the not so distant past!?! Where are our Papa-doc & Baby-doc’s!?! Where our Emelda Marcos’s and Idi Amin “His Excellency, President for Life, Field Marshal Al Hadji Doctor Idi Amin Dada, VC, DSO, MC, Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Seas and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular”… A sad, sad state of affairs!

EFF Leaves the W3C over DRM Decision
    https://www.pcper.com/news/General-Tech/EFF-Leaves-W3C-over-DRM-Decision
On September 18th, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, EFF, announced that they were leaving the World Wide Web Consortium, W3C, due to its stance on DRM, effective immediately. This was published in the form of an open letter from Cory Doctorow, which is available on the EFF’s website.

Well tonight’s the night! The new Star Trek on regular tv 1st episode, 8:30 according to the guide I saw. We’ll finally get a look and see if it’s CRAP (like those recent movies), or worthy!

    • Jack Cassidy says:

      No Cylons… Seems crappy already,

    • Darth says:

How’d it go? I did finally see The Orville pilot. Meh.

      • MSolomon2 says:

yup The Orville, meh… I saw a review that I thought was correct, it doesn’t know what it wants to be. Is it real sci/fi is it a comedy spoof, it’s kinda all over the place. I’ve always liked the Mcfarlane (?) guy as a person, he seems very smart and genuinely decent, but I’ve always thought his projects were just not that great. Always thought Family Guy was mildly cute but waaaaay over-rated. I can’t really see this lasting more then a season if that.

  6. Tio Azúcar says:

Anyone seen this? I like a bunch of the actors from other shows.

Trump is beyond any true definition of a person. He is as the saying goes…”a piece of work”

  8. MSolomon2 says:

Well I have to say I’m not hating the new Star Trek, course just 1 episode. The sets and special effects were all of the highest quality, higher quality then those recent movies where they filmed parts of the “enterprise” in some brewing factory, and it looked it!

  9. x27 says:

I agree with what my brother said about Barack Obama’s presidency,he should have let Hillary Clinton have the nomination. As it turned out,the political class was not ready for a black president. That more than anything was why the R’s(and some dems) stopped him cold. What a waste of a true talent, and a sad commentary about America

    • Jack Cassidy says:

I have no idea how to reply to that.

Well indeed, racist low lives were not ready for a black president and No way in hell they would stand woman (neoliberal) president. Not in 1865, 1905, 2008 or 2020 should we be guided into action by Republicans demands.

      • x27 says:

My point is J that Obama was young enough to bide his time for a cycle or two. Things would have been different.I know, shoulda, woulda, coulda.A guy can muse can’t he?

        • Jack Cassidy says:

Had he waited a bit, the party probably would have overlooked him. They wanted what they always want FLUFF over substance, free drinks for the idiotic masses. They wanted a young, Black JFK. They got a moderate neoliberal instead.

All they did was open the door for Trump. You can have a junior sen. with hardly any experience you can have a racist pig with non at all.

    • Darth says:

They obstructed him with a determined minority who didn’t give a damn about what they were doing to the country, only scoring political points. The Republicans are good at that. But nobody made him keep many Bush administration officials and policies in place, or even escalate them (N$A, droning), or champion a right wing private insurance mandate from the 90’s which he opposed during his campaign, or let bankers off with a get out of jail free card, which he also opposed during his campaign. He chose to do those things and alienated much of the Democratic base in the process who felt a deep sense of betrayal. The Democrats are really good at that.

      • Jack Cassidy says:

“…alienated much of the Democratic base in the process who felt a deep sense of betrayal. The Democrats are really good at that.” This needs to be said at every discussion on unity, cuz until they get it, truly understand there will be none.

A question from another site…should America be the worlds policeman?
How has it worked out so far? draining trillions of dollars from your economy, just as Bin Laden wanted.STOP being the worlds policeman.Only if there is a clear danger, not like Bush and his WMD bullshit. That America seems to have not learned from Vietnam,is astounding.

    • Jack Cassidy says:

      Another site? PTUI!!!

The argument, and one must admit a strong one, is how bad America’s isolationist policies serve us during the onset of WW2. Of course after that we justified aggression and murder using the same argument.

If you look at how WW2 started then the realization comes that Perhaps this time around the world needs to police the United States.

But of course, G-ddamn Democrats are blaming Russia (yes they did have a small part—well no one knows for sure because we’re supposed to just take their word for it) for their failures.

      4EEEE!!!! Cue that beautiful meteor!

    • MSolomon2 says:

Oh but it keeps the 1%ers coffers filled-to-burstin with all that gubermint military-industrial spending! Cha-ching!
