Returning To Kansas

Not again, Toto.

We were ripped from Kansas, we pounded the yellow brick road, we clung to our new friends–funny how familiar they seemed to us– we fought witches and their flying monkey minions, we became the FUCKING wizard trying to sell a lie, don’t you think it’s time to wake-up? Time to deal with the tornado’s aftermath?

About Fancy Jack

Don't worry I'm not trying to be a Legitimate time for it and no money in it, just have fun.

” It is possible to achieve all of the policy goals of tax reform — to grow the economy and the middle class while raising revenue and providing tax relief to working families, and it’s a tax proposal as American as apple pie — rather than abolishing the dynasty tax, up the tax to 100 percent.”

    I’m 100% for it….8-)

Finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy 2 last night, that was a nice fun movie. Started watching Logan tonight, didn’t get too far into it, very DARK.

    • Jack Putain says:

I haven’t watched the Guardians of the Galaxy, something about a stinking talking cgi raccoon that pisses me off. I liked Logan, tho a departure from the comics.

      • MSolomon2 says:

the racoon was well done, and a interesting character (well written). I have more objections to cgi people like they did in that Rogue One movie. WhoreyWood is hungry to be able to wholly own People’s image/voice and cgi them completely. Another step toward the new feudalism. Logan doesn’t seem to fit with the other movies but is based somewhat on the Old Man Logan comic.

        • Jack Putain says:

I wonder if in the future when there are only CGI actors if they’ll have sex scandals, drug addiction problems or will their ego get so big directors won’t want to hire them.

I get the impression that Dowd crams Hillary into her columns for the same reason that Trump compulsively tweets: it’s provocative and click-intensive. The more outrage engendered, the more successful the op-ed.

Amy Chozick is the same reporter who wrote that notorious front-page smear job faulting Hillary for Anthony Wiener’s bad behavior. It was one of those many things that “cast a shadow” over the last crucial days of her campaign.

And Kirsten Gillibrand – this former conservative Blue Dog Dem once championed a wall against immigrants and unrestricted gun rights before she became an opportunistic overnight progressive who’s taken more Wall Street money than any other current senator. Heckuva job, Kirsten, for instigating a liberal backlash against the #MeToo movement. You tried to portray Al Franken as the mean hog-tied boss from “9 to 5” and yourself as a Jane Fonda working gal heroine. But you’re coming across more like a faux-feminist Roger Chillingworth who plastered a big scarlet “P” for predator on Al’s scapegoated chest

The other Al (Simpson) is the one who should have been booted out of town decades ago. Instead, he was awarded a leadership position on the notorious Cat Food Commission during the previous administration. He called Social Security “a milk cow with 310 tits” and then ridiculed the older women who complained about his language. And he kept his job.

So much injustice and pain in this world, and all Dowd can do is add to the divisiveness.

I thought, for once, this might be a Dowd column I could share with friends. Alas, it turned into yet ANOTHER diatribe against Hillary Clinton.

Has it yet occurred to you, Maureen, that Hillary Clinton herself is one of the greatest victims in this whole chorus of misogyny? She subordinated her own talents and ambition and intellectual capabilities to her male partner’s – something a great many women have done over history – and has been paying the price for it ever since.

This has far too often been the fate of superb women. Even Marie Curie was little recognized in her own time; her husband Pierre was assumed to be the more brilliant.

What might have been, if Bill had decided to use HIS capabilities to elect Hillary, rather than vice-versa… but those are not the times in which we live. We live in times where Maureen Dowd feels free to dump on THIS particular woman, whatever negative attributes she chooses.

And Trump skates free. “Boys will be boys!”

Don’t forget Kirsten Gillibrand’s work as a lawyer working on behalf of the tobacco industry. She doesn’t like to talk about it, which is understandable. As the Times reported in March 2009, “Ms. Gillibrand represented [the law firm] Davis Polk on a high-level Philip Morris committee whose work included shielding certain documents from disclosure, according to several lawyers and industry observers. Serving on the panel placed her alongside some of the country’s top tobacco industry lawyers.”

Guns and tobacco: two of the three legs holding up the sturdiest lobbying stool in DC. And true “progressive” that she is, Ms. Gillibrand was right there with them. Enough is enough, indeed.

I did not read whatever Dowd has said about Hillary but she is RIGHT!

I agree with the poster that said,….”Hillary Clinton herself is one of the greatest victims in this whole chorus of misogyny” but that circumstantial as she is one of the most prominent Dem women the party has, still it does not negate her own doings.

The Clintons poisoned the party and aside a few diehard loyalist most Libs are beginning to see this. Hillary gave us Trump.

      • MSolomon2 says:

        The Clintons poisoned the party
truer words! I’m not as hopeful about that party. Too many entrenched “interests” hell-bent-determined to keep their people in power, keep the blue dog dogma going, and continue their worshipful service to their neo-feudal lords. The fact that these creatures managed to oust a real Progressive in Franken says volumes to me.

        • Jack Putain says:

I saw the image below from a Hillary supporter—2020 is Done, they’ll vote for the Elitis shitbag the party deems should be POTUS than allow a Progressive Dem a chance of actually winning—and forget Democratic Socialist to Neolibs, we’re mass murderers, they rather have DT as POTUS.

      • bebe says:

NO Jack, for Dowd it is jealousy !
Time is moving fast and Hillary belongs to the past, why dwell on her. If only Hillary had gotten rid of that cheating Husband she perhaps have a chance.

Now we have An old man who is not able to wear his dentures properly and losing his marbles.

        • Jack Putain says:

Nope base on policy alone she’s old guard and unelectable. The reason “WE” should dwell on her is that most Dem voters think she was cheated and are out for blood.

          • bebe says:

Yes She was cheated, absolutely but I am not happy with the Party as this moment.

            • Jack Putain says:

How was she cheated? the popular vote is meaningless, unless a Dem loses, because there’s never accountability, blame, Dukakis, blame Nader, blame Sanders but never blame the Queen and her sexual predator husband, yep DT will win in 2020.

            • Jack Putain says:

There’s hope for you because you are questioning the party based on whatever matters to you not what RACHEL’s caterwauling.

                • Jack Putain says:

The other guy won’t as you can see from the picture I posted people will vote against me not for a candidate—-fight, fight, fight until there is no more fight to fight.

                  BY EMILY BRONTË
                  No coward soul is mine
No trembler in the world’s storm-troubled sphere
                  I see Heaven’s glories shine
And Faith shines equal arming me from Fear

                  O God within my breast
                  Almighty ever-present Deity
Life, that in me hast rest,
As I Undying Life, have power in Thee

                  Vain are the thousand creeds
That move men’s hearts, unutterably vain,
                  Worthless as withered weeds
Or idlest froth amid the boundless main

                  To waken doubt in one
Holding so fast by thy infinity,
                  So surely anchored on
                  The steadfast rock of Immortality.

                  With wide-embracing love
                  Thy spirit animates eternal years
                  Pervades and broods above,
Changes, sustains, dissolves, creates and rears

Though earth and moon were gone
And suns and universes ceased to be
                  And Thou wert left alone
Every Existence would exist in thee

There is not room for Death
Nor atom that his might could render void
Since thou art Being and Breath
And what thou art may never be destroyed.

Bolivia’s President Declares ‘Total Independence’ from World Bank and IMF
    July 25, 2017 at 5:34 am
    Written by American Herald Tribune

“…Some of Bolivia’s largest resistance struggles in the last 60 years have targeted the economic policies carried out by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

Most of the protests focused on opposing privatization policies and austerity measures, including cuts to public services, privatization decrees, wage reductions, as well the weakening of labor rights.

Since 2006, a year after Morales came to power, social spending on health, education, and poverty programs has increased by over 45 percent.

The Morales administration made enormous transformations in the Andean nation. The figures speak for themselves: the nationalization of hydrocarbons, poverty reduction from 60% to less than 40%, a decrease in the rate of illiteracy from 13% to 3%, the tripling the GDP with an average growth of 5% annually, the quadrupling of the minimum wage, the increasing of state coverage on all fronts, and the development of infrastructure in communications, transportation, energy and industry. And above all, stability, an unusual word in the troubled political history Bolivia, of which today, with the economic slowdown experienced by many countries in the region, is a real privilege.”

I’m with you! The establishment can’t abide this kind of thing! Other People might start getting ideas! Can’t have that now can we! Time for murica to do what it always does and murder some more freely elected officials in a sovereign nation all in the name of Murican free-dums, and liber-teas! Which is to say to protect the neo-feudal corporate-fascist order.

CIA: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un isn’t crazy
    Zachary Cohen
    By Zachary Cohen, CNN
Updated 2:45 AM ET, Fri October 6, 2017

“Washington (CNN)Between the ruthless executions of his own senior officers, bombastic threats of nuclear annihilation and defiant missile tests, it may be easy to agree with President Donald Trump’s recent assessment that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is a “madman” who is “on a suicide mission for himself.”

But top officials from the CIA said Wednesday that Kim’s actions are not those of a maniacal provocateur but a “rational actor” who is motivated by clear, long-term goals that revolve around ensuring regime survival.
“There’s a clarity of purpose in what Kim Jong Un has done,” according to Yong Suk Lee, deputy assistant director of the CIA’s Korea Mission Center, who discussed the escalating tensions between North Korea and the US during a conference organized by the agency at George Washington University.”
