Work less, get more: New Zealand firm’s four-day week an ‘unmitigated success’
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jul/19/work-less-get-more-new-zealand-firms-four-day-week-an-unmitigated-success
Reduced hours for same pay increased work-life balance by 24%, cutting stress levels and boosting commitment

Probably can’t happen in Murica, the corporates don’t give a damn about People. Supposed to live for -them-, and nothing else.

Democrats ‘less inclined to cheat on spouses than Republicans’
    https://www.theguardian.com/science/2018/jul/19/ashley-madison-democrats-less-inclined-cheat-spouses-republicans

no surprise. I mean seriously they are the very party of hypocrisy in every way, “family values”, Ha!, “fiscal CONservatism”, Ha!, the list goes on-and-on.

Over 400,000 people living in ‘modern slavery’ in US, report finds
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jul/19/us-modern-slavery-report-global-slavery-index

it’ll only get worse as the neo-feudal corporate-fascists gain greater and more entrenched power. We’ll see a return to outright indentured-servitude yet all in-service to the corporate “model”.

The next Ocasio-Cortez: will these candidates pull Democrats to the left?
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jul/19/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-democrats-progressive-candidates

“Each is supported by Brand New Congress, a progressive organization that endorses and provides administrative support to political hopefuls who run on Sanders-esque platforms. The group hosts knowledge-sharing events among candidates, each of whom pledges not to accept corporate backing, and it hopes to elect progressives to US office from across the country.”

    Excellent!

HA! I read the realm from the bottom up so now I know what made you so slappy. I hate to say it but they have ZERO allies in the party and they will suffer the same fate of the Tea Party, that is to fade away, but in the process they will destroy ANY opportunity, however remote of forming a REAL progressive 3rd party challenger. I think the Dems reallize this and that’s why Neoliberals go around calling themselves progressive like Cuomo in NYS.

it’s as if the word Monopoly had been “removed”. It must be a thoughtcrime to use the term today…

  10. mrx27 says:

    Miss him now?

    • Fancy Jack says:

Nope, Apple and Oranges. Sure he is way better than Trump but someone, like him, that destroys the ethos of a party and makes the voters into drones is harmful in different ways. Had some of his corporate policies been implemented people would suffer.

Don’t think so? We got Ajit Pai because of him and he allowed Nestle to decimate the west watertable so they can sell us back the water that belongs to us.

What I miss is the PEOPLE fell for the cult of personality and allowed our elections ( PRIMARIES) to be tamperd with….and I’m not talking Putin.

We deserve the SHIT GIBBON for our own folly, sorry rest of the world.

      • mrx27 says:

You are right, apples and oranges, where is your moral compass on this? Sorry J,bud you make the argument you always do….They are all just as bad.How can you say that?

        • Fancy Jack says:

That right there is the cowardly, fear mongering, McCarthyism argument the left uses to deflect that regardless of Trump, everyone that denies that the left sunk to the level of the Tea party when they supported the primary fraud that took place in 2016. My moral compass is unsully, how’s yours Bub? 😉 if the left is ok with purging and preventing voter party change, than they deserve to have Trump and his deplorables rammed down their throats.

“removing more than 117,000 voters, including Asian Americans and Latinos, from voter rolls because they hadn’t cast ballots in past elections.”

          https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-america/new-york-city-board-elections-settles-lawsuit-over-voter-purge-n816941

Or how about the 3 million independents that were denied a change of party to DEMOCRAT because most would have voted for Sanders?

          https://nypost.com/2016/04/18/new-yorks-primary-is-closed-shut-by-insane-registration-rules/

Go ahead and try to passively make this a non-issue, we’ll see whose compass if off kilter.

          • mrx27 says:

I just think that what I have seen for months of Trumpism, there has been a decent into a coarsening of discourse(Duh) I am NOT a political animal at all Jack, you like to accuse me of that.I care for the fucking world. Not like navel gazing Americans

            • Fancy Jack says:

That’s an easy charge because you live in a mostly homogeneous quasi-socialist country. We however live in an ever increasing millitarised, socially devolving plutocracy. I have never accused you of being a political animal, perhaps I point out that your slant is pro Dem but who isen’t, at least here?

Your optics keep you from seeying the BIG picture that in a Duopoly there is no Democracy, so yes to a life longDemocrat (me) the greater harm comes from a corrupt party and those who try to shame others into falling into place. I’m not wealthy and I sure as hell will not be coerced by weak sauce into EVER making the point that the corporate Dems are our hope.

              • mrx27 says:

Don’t patronize me Jack.I am glad you think you know who I am.But you are wrong.I just want Trump gone, period.I don’t give a fuck about party labels.First things first my friend

                • bebe says:

Fear X…I am with you , I want tRump to be gone !!!!

                • Fancy Jack says:

Everyone wants Trump gone, well maybe not his loons, but that will fix the OPEN hate supreficially. Pence will give us the same shit execpt he will do in secrecy. What we need is Trump and his entire cabinet, including his SCOTUS appointees removed. I think people THINK that when he is gone a Democrat will be the repllacement, pure foolishness.

    • Fancy Jack says:

No, your being a PUNK and can fuck off because here , not one time has anyone made a personal attack on you but you keep taking passive agreesive shots. Your opinion is yours, free to be debated if you make a post but if you take jabs be ready to have them returned in spades.

Mark Zuckerberg’s problem is liberalism’s problem
    Salon
    https://apple.news/Af1UMxfaLMQa10jaWYkAbEA

    — possibly Karl Rove, but never confirmed — understood something in 2002 that liberals like Zuckerberg still don’t today: namely, that liberals and conservatives aren’t fighting the culture wars with the same weapons. The former is on the ideological battlefield with a clipboard, the latter with a bazooka.

There’s an old saying about American politics that goes like this: the right is interested in power, while the left is interested in fairness. This is why in a fight, the right will always win: they’re not playing by the same rules as the rest of us. The Republicans want to gerrymander the hell out of the country, while the liberals want to just make the districts fair. The Republicans want to disenfranchise poor and non-white voters, while the Democrats merely want to keep voting as it is. There’s a reason that Democrats keep winning the popular vote and losing the election. If U.S. politics are a see-saw, the Democrats have situated themselves in the center, while the Republicans situate themselves as far to the right as possible. Which way is it tilting, then?

This is also why the wide-open media landscape of Facebook does not resemble a fair fight. Zuckerberg is deeply invested in fairness, in his platform being perceived as ideologically open-ended. The fringe figures — anti-Semites, white supremacists, literal Nazis — they don’t play by his rules, and they never will.

    • Fancy Jack says:

Liberals are not so liberal or play fair…when the time came to play dirty, they did it to their own not the Republiscums so they deserve what they get. Of course it’s always the people that will suffer.

FBI conference’s keynote speech will cover ‘Radical Left-Wing Gangs’
    ThinkProgress.org
    https://apple.news/A6bJ6hmqrTc-qMqji2mHcsw
The largest annual gathering of FBI agents — FBI National Academy Associates — will meet this weekend in Quebec City. A year-and-half ago it was the site of a deadly mass shooting, when six Muslim worshipers were killed at a local mosque by Alexandre Bissonnette. The subsequent investigation found that Bissonnette was obsessed with far-right…

yes -that’s- the danger… ‘Radical Left-Wing Gangs’… cuz you know we hear about “those people” doing mass-shootings oh just every day now!
