Quiz: Identify on the image above, the ONLY hero.

Hint: It will not be obvious.  Post your answers  NOW before reading the post to get the correct answer to the quiz.

Heroes, the ones I think of, can be that one individual that runs into a burning building or to trouble when it’s not their JOB but all can be circumstantial. To me, heroes forge on through the daily grind not to have fame, riches, or even their 15 minutes of fame, they do so to survive and provide for theirs.

Politicians are NO heroes, they are public ( the answer to the quiz is Buffy, what? she killed damn vampires, that’s a hero in my book) servants, drawing a check from the people….and in many cases great rewards from those of moneyed interest that buy their service. The only allegiance to you is to get your vote or a donation but not much more.

The Great American disillusion comes from having a pop culture mentality that abandons skepticism, free inquiry, and personal resolve, elevating the political DUOPOLY, with pornographic fervor, to the highest societal standards even while politicians debase us daily.

This is not the answer I just wanted you to know you did not read the post,  busted!

An actress? Or a fictional character? Sorry, I’ll go with Jimmy Carter – at least he has stayed true to his values throughout his life.

      I’m with you!

She killed vampires, she’s a hero. Peanut boy just built homes for the needy—outside politics he is a hero but as a politician, he was a dude doing his g-ddam job. No public servant is a hero, that is the poison destroying the Democrat party, always in search of a hero figurehead.

      • MSolomon2 says:

not just the “establishment” but People in general, it’s part of the deepest basic problem with humanity this hierarchical thinking that’s stuck in the biology. I’m convinced that it just plain has to be edited in the genes otherwise humanity is doomed, intelligence and hierarchical thinking are too destructive combined. We end up with this very thing People looking for and just accepting “leaders” because they manage to push those deep buttons. How did any of the great monsters of history get away with it? Stalin was just 1 guy but people OBEYED, even worshipped him, their own friends and family murdered and it just went on and on.

        • Fancy Jack says:

It’s impossible to wipe the “biological programming” that makes humans most followers but with some work, we can suppress the coded malware out of us…beginning with the abolition of religion, teaching ethics from pre-K to the PhD level, centering our efforts on compassion, not greed.

          • MSolomon2 says:

oh I have little doubt the genetics can be fixed, we’ve already seen for instance the gross difference in reich-wing “brains” in studies their reptilian fear/hate parts being grossly larger then decent People’s brains accounting biologically for their lack of empathy/compassion. A beautiful idea, little genetic fixing and a vastly better world. I know, I know shades of eugenics/Mengele but this is SCIENCE!

She’s an actress playing a fictional character. And in no way did I equate his position as President with my esteem for him as a human being.

Public servants are elected and/or hired to do a job, that’s all. They are either good at what they do or not. Elections ought to be looked at strictly as job interviews, nothing more. Good grief…

  3. MSolomon2 says:

Carter, though I still like Bernie and yes Buffy too! (luved that show!) and we could definitely do faaaar worse then Biden.

    • Fancy Jack says:

All are politician doing a job, we need to handle them like underperforming employees. None of them are heroes.

      • MSolomon2 says:

didn’t say I thought any of them were “heroes” not sure I even believe in such things outside of movies/tv/books, just that I still like them (and I say NO! to any damn “reboot” of Buffy that isn’t the original People!, the way stinking WhoreyWood is these days it’d be an ABOMINATION)

        • Fancy Jack says:

I’m using the HERO motif to describe the fanatical adoration of politicians on all sides—I fear the Socialist Dems are no better.

          • MSolomon2 says:

True Social-Democracy is our only hope to become a true first-world country like the Scandinavian Social-Democracies.

            • Fancy Jack says:

But we’re American, we’re going to eff it up good. The first ones to attack progressives are DEMOCRATS and will be joined by DEMOCRATIC PARTY Social-Democrats.

  4. MSolomon2 says:

except THIS politician!, I’m behind him 100%, a TRUE HERO!

    Duke 2020! He’s my candidate!

  7. MSolomon2 says:

1 thing ya gotta give the reich-wingers, they know how to create a red-meat “talking point” for their “faithful” and stick-to-it the whole “mobs” thing… I wish the Dems could muster such fury and keep any kind of focus, if so-called Dems win this election it’ll be in spite of their own incompetence…

A new Ikea report is an unsettling look at life in the 21st century
    Fast Company
Every year, Ikea Group and INGKA Holding (the holding company that controls the majority of Ikea’s retail stores) publishes a research report on how people live in and relate to a specific aspect of their homes. Since 2014 it’s dealt with morning routines, food and kitchens, and disagreements at home. This year, it takes on a more existential tone–dealing with loneliness, belonging, and the effects of living in cities.

glad these issues finally starting to be talked about at least.

  11. MSolomon2 says:

I didn’t really need any pope to tell me this.

  12. Fancy Jack says:

It’s a shame EVERYONE ignores the one truly STELLAR thing Donald Trump has done. He has destroyed the BIPARTISANSHIP lie Obama sold you! From now on any POTUS it won’t matter if they are old school Neoliberal ( Hillary camp of politics) or Socialist Democrat ( Bernie Sanders camp of politics) will have to guard and push fiercely their agenda and deal with Republican with a stern hand; to quote Hillary Rodham Clinton,”…we have to bring them to heel.” Of course, I don’t mean young African American people like she did just some Old, white, morally corrupt rich monsters…and their enablers.

Koof, koof, I’m ok, I’m ok, sniff, sniff, ahchooooooooooooooooo!

    • MSolomon2 says:

Sign the petition: Oppose the Trump Administration’s Wildlife Conservation Council
In a new low, the Trump administration has created an advisory council dedicated exclusively to promoting the killing of imperiled wildlife species for sport.

Filled with trophy hunters and gun industry lobbyists, the International Wildlife Conservation Council could wield considerable influence over America’s international hunting policies, putting the future of vulnerable species like elephants, lions, and giraffes at grave risk.

Make no mistake: The IWCC has very little interest in protecting our planet’s most vulnerable wildlife species. One look at the IWCC’s members tells you all you need to know. They include:

The NRA's director of hunting policy
The vice president of the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation, an organization that lobbies for hunters
    A gun industry executive
A veterinarian with ties to the exotic animal trade
    A reality-TV safari hunting guide

Missing from the council are members with actual scientific expertise in wildlife conservation.

there really just is no end to the depths of the trump “administrations” pure-f’n-EVIL
