  1. ♥ Thank you, Jack! ♥

    Greetings!

Let me ask you something, here is what you need to know first.

If an individual that holds a PhD in Psychology
    Works for the Military
    Is a translator–Japanese language
Has practice in the United States, Europe, Japan and South America
Has had a few blurb on printed material

Certainly you can expect such an individual to come-up with something to say in an argument that is beyond mediocre can you not?

  4. Jackngus says:

So the answer to the question “Certainly you can expect such an individual to come-up with something to say in an argument that is beyond mediocre can you not?” is a resounding NO!

Of course I left out the part that this funny mustachioed individual is none other than the king of RIGHT-WING trolls Mishima. After months of being banished from this site for numerous personal attacks he attempts to sneak back in. You think he would at least try to engage me in some worthwhile argument——-HELLS NO! this is what Mishi had to say: “Yukio Mishima
The youtube is dumb, along with the host/hostess (which depends on the day) of this vapid site.”

Keith Olbermann tonight on his show really took it to the new Penn State college football coach. If a clip becomes available in the future I will report back on this. He also had a great interview with Chris Kluwe, the former punter for the Minnesota Vikings who states he was fired because of his pro LGBT views.

Just a reminder: Tomorrow on the Sy-Fi channel the new series “Helix” premieres. It is produced by Ronald D. Moore of Deep Space Nine fame!

    From Wikipedia:

“Helix is an upcoming American science fiction thriller television series on Syfy that is scheduled to debut January 10, 2014.[1] The series follows a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who travel to a research facility in the Arctic to investigate a potential outbreak of disease. While there, they find themselves stuck in a life-or-death situation that could decide the fate of the future of mankind.”

What’s your take on it? I just saw a commercial for it a little bit ago on TV…I used to love to read science fiction when I was a kid….the new stuff is really awesome in it’s detail and effects. I need to start enjoying it again.

      • nebdem says:

I’m very big on sci-fi, as you can tell by my love for all things Klingon. I think the show has potential, when the SyFy channel rolls out a new show on Friday night they are usually really good. I like the angle with this show being set in a modern time period and with a biological aspect. It looks good production wise, hopefully it will be a hit. I’ll keep you in the loop about it as it unfolds.

        • the1dood says:

I was thinking about watching it myself…the commercial was pretty cool!

        • waverly says:

I’m still really super pissed off at SyFy for canceling Alphas !!! I loved that show. Especially the Gary Bell character who used to be Mr Nigel Murray, one of the interns on Bones. They left Alphas hanging right in the middle of a story and pulled the plug. Jerks!

          • nebdem says:

I didn’t catch that show, but have seen I think listed on Netflix. I really hate it when they cancel shows and leave you hanging. Some shows may not appeal to everyone, but there are some that come along that had so much more potential than the ones that are so boring after their 4th or 5th season.

            • waverly says:

Alphas was interesting because each character had their own unique ability and they would always bring in other characters with different abilities . It was way cool.

I know we don’t talk much politics here,But isn’t the pickle Christie is in deeelishus!?

    • nebdem says:

He sure has the press paying him a lot of attention. I don’t think this really hurts him as bad as some may say, but who knows. If this is the only thing scandalous about his leadership style if he runs for President, better to have it done and over with now, but if it goes on for a few years and keeps getting recycled it more likely will help him, as strange as that sounds. I find the whole thing nothing more than fodder for the Democrats to use right now. It is true that what his staffers did was abusive, but it sadly I feel is small fries to the things politicians do to other politicians.

      • nebdem says:

From what little I have seen about it it seems that the most damaging thing it can cause him is that the term “bully” will be used to describe his character. That will follow him from now on if he decides to run for President.

      • Caller no. 8 says:

Taken at bald face value (insert liar as necessary), what does firing his staffers say about his ability to hire? They obviously didn’t have the character to resign when they should. The far Right gets fodder too. They don’t like him.

        • nebdem says:

I think the whole thing is a perfect example of how politics is such a freaking waste of time to follow when everything is so geared to the next presidential election, which is still years away.

I agree it does speak to his inability to hire a competent staff, but in truth his staff knows how to play the modern game, as sad as that sounds. I’m not giving him a free pass on this, but it is a complete distraction in my opinion for Democrats who should right now be gearing up for the midterms and actually having the stones to stand up for Obamacare.

          • Caller no. 8 says:

Michael Moore is bashing it now for not being single-payer.

            • Hope he doesn’t turn into Ralph Nader.

              • nebdem says:

He passed that threshold in my opinion around the middle of Obama’s 1st term. I can’t recall exactly what it was, perhaps it was his championing of Assange that drew me away from his message.

            • nebdem says:

Michael Moore is good at what he does, I have enjoyed his films, but he lately has gone off my radar because he should put his words into more films. His films alone will stand as a very good representation of these times. I recently watched Farenheit and parts of it still ring so true. If he wanted to be honest about the health care system he should point the next film at both parties and take them both down without showing favortism as them both being the reasons why social activism can be so easliy misdirected when the voters from both sides by being at each other’s throats lose out in the end when both party establishments rely upon their division.

        • the1dood says:

Sacrificial? That way he could say “See?? I got rid of the bad apples!”
You’re right….he’s not a favorite of some on the right.

Saw a story on that. Unpleasant as it was, the cops acted beyond their authority.

      • nebdem says:

To be honest I’m glad that video was re-posted on the Omaha Police Union site, it was first uploaded on a either a relatives or friends FB account. I’m not certain, but I think it might have been a relative that tipped the Union off. I can understand it was insensitve, but it is the truth. That same toddler got wounded awhile back in the leg during a drive-by shooting on that house. The house was frequented by gang members. The best thing for that toddler is that he was taken out of there. I know the media has spun it to be about race, but I don’t think it is about race, I think it is about the gang culture and how those knuckleheads are ruining lives.

        • nebdem says:

But then again the national media doesn’t want to go there with talk about the gang culture. It really needs to take place though, but the problem is that to talk about it would make those upset about it out to be seen as racists if they are white, when in fact many concerned aren’t racist, just fed up that stuff goes on and nary a mention in the national discussion is made about.

        • Caller no. 8 says:

I truly get that part, and I have no idea how effective social workers and court orders are in that locale.

          • nebdem says:

There were child service workers visiting that house, they had mentioned that gang members were frequenting it but couldn’t do anything about that. I’m certain they tried to get those kids out of there but couldn’t, this clip in conjunction with the previous shooting there has made it possible now to get them out of there. It is a real tragedy all-around. Don Lemon today on CNN was on point talking about this with a few people. I’ll just say that the people talking about it on CNN last night were so full of it, I can’t even begin to tell you how upset I was listening to a few of them spouting without even knowing the particulars of the whole story.
