Back from store….Thaw bath was a success….turkey is cleaned, stuffed with carrots, onion, celery, butter, sage, rosemary and thyme and trussed…in the oven. Whoot!

I am cautiously optimistic…the beast comes out in a few and while it’s resting I can bake the green bean casserole and the dinner rolls…Potatoes go on in a minute…Waldorf salad is made and in the fridge. Cheater Stove Top stuffing in the last few minutes and roll. I will definitely report back later. 🙂 Thank you for the support.

Last night I bid adieu after getting a phone call… a friend’s turkey had been deemed too thawed to wait for cooking, it was now or never. So into the oven the bird went. Quite improbably, around 10 pm, friends drifted by so say Happy Thanksgiving… by 10:30 we had a quorum and Midnight Thanksgiving dinner was on! There we were, gathered around the oven at 12:01, first in line for the premiere.
I’ve barely recovered. Thanksgiving2 in thirty minutes.
I’m tough. I can do this.

Yeah, make them get those chairs. Like my old man used to say when he’d make me cut the lawn, “what’s the use of having a dwarf if you can’t work ’em?” 😆 Have a great meal.
