“Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting.” —Franklin D. Roosevelt
Last night while I was on the Ouija board talking to the founding Fathers, president Franklin D. Roosevelt added, “Of course when I said that I meant vote for Obama.”
Man the streets in NYC are desolate tonight—it’s a week since Sandy and people are still not coming into the city like before. I took a photo of what normally is crowded spot, Front of Bloomingdale’s and it was empty.
Hi, Jack. Did you think it was the right choice to call off the marathon?
I have mixed feelings but lean towards yes because there are a lot of folks hurting—it just didn’t seem right somehow.
Must seem eerily quiet.
Day time seems fine tho a bit light in crowds.
Are people in the outskirts getting their power back on?
I read somewhere that it could take until the end of November for some.
Yep some place are still wonky—I hope is sooner than later it’s getting cold out there.
It’ll probably be weeks before it’s completely back to normal.
UP YOURS ROMNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time will tell it may be Up Ours tomorrow!!! 😦
If by that you mean Obama will win then you’re all on your own—Tonight I had dinner with some affluent guys whose better interest ( financial ) is Romney and I was shocked to hear them call Romney a lying asshole, not only that but that they support Obama on his social agenda—holy fuck sometimes, shit just surprises the fuck out of me.
If you meant that Romney could win this, sit back pal have a couple of cold ones because Obama has this election in the bag.
Bingo!
Are you voting on the pot thing, KB?
Everybody voting is on pot 🙂
We have a pot measure on the ballot.
FluffJo, they make 12-year-olds pee in a cup nowadays if they want to play soccer.
That seems just silly.
They claim they are looking for steroids, but I think they’re really looking for pot. A couple of kids did test positive for dope and got suspended.
Lance’s legacy?
I have to pee in a cup, too, for triathlons.
not in my days, but it was MTB.
What? For reals?
Yup, they start drug testing at he U-11 level.
Wow. That’s a shocker. Things are getting weird.
Do they make the adult men hockey league take a drug test? No. And I GUARANTEE there are roidheads in that league.
Praise be last day of the election. My mail box was as full with ads as much as the tv is. I’m ready for things to return to normal – back to that do nothing congress yeah haw!
Vote Mo’fos!!
Letterman just showed how the electoral college could spell ass on a map, ha!
hah!
I’m suffering from DST hangover, mañana team.
Good night Copper. Happy voting.
Sleep well horse.
See ya later, Copper.
Good night, Copper – sleep well.
Peace.
G’nite, Copper
what’s DST?
Good night, copper.
Oh no – sorry I just missed you. Thanks for updating us about your horse. I’m so happy you’re doing something you love.
Oh man. Is there a place beyond tired? I think I’m there 🙂
Busy day running around with the girls. Good exercise for me!
It was a gloriously sunny, windy day so we took our kite to the park. I had a blast teaching the girls how to fly it. They both caught on and were so delighted to fly it by themselves. Oldest one got it caught in a tree. Funny, it reminded me of the time I clocked those turkeys – She was running toward a big tree, so I called out to her to stop – “The tree! the tree!” Well, she’s thinking: “What’s she fussing about? I’m nowhere near close enough to run into it?” and she kept running. Just then a gust of wind caught the kite and it sailed right into the tree. Just lucky it wasn’t lodged in too tight – I managed to pull it back down. They played in the yard the rest of the day while we relaxed on the porch. After their bubble bath, they both fell asleep on the couch – hubby had to carry them to bed. Nothing like fresh air and exercise for children.
They’re going home tomorrow, and I’m probably going to sleep for a week 🙂
WOW ! sounds like heaven.
JAAAACK! Mwah!
Everything back to normal at your place?
Yes only us two, but hold on there’s a north eastern heading my way.
Boy, you’re going to miss them..
Yes, but I’ll also enjoy having my peaceful, quiet life back. I’m sure we’ll be seeing them again by Christmas.
Hi, doll- yes, there is. It’s way the hell out there, and it’s called Utter Exhaustion. Not to be confused with Uttar Pradesh. 😉
LOL!
I’m familiar with both.
You’re all peripatetic and shit, huh! 😉
CPAD!! Seeing life through the eyes of children – nothing like it in the world! You are lucky and beloved, but we knew that 🙂
🙂 DUDE! Mwah!
Yes, that’s the joy – seeing everything through their innocent, joyous, loving eyes. And they are so easy to delight at that age. Just watching their faces as they each flew a kite for the first time by themselves – priceless! And how they were over the freaking moon because Grandpa bought them each their OWN package of gum. Just every little thing like that. Too bad that as we grow older, it takes so much more to make people happy, and some never are at that.
Here’s a quote from an article in the NYT about buildings damaged in NY:
“We had prepared for an emergency,” Mr. Norich said. “The emergency we had prepared for was an act of terrorism, not this.” That just says it ALL.
Hi Barb! Gorgeous quilt!
Is that guy saying they have no contingency plan for storms?
Thanks! It was a tenant, a publisher, in one of the buildings damaged. Want the article link? http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/05/nyregion/damage-unclear-future-in-limbo-for-some-buildings-in-lower-manhattan.html?pagewanted=1
How sad. I read that about 40,000 New Yorkers are without homes – as many as were affected by Katrina.
Not news to US, or anybody with 2 brain cells left….

Great, and more election debacles in our future.
Hi termgirl! One more sleep!
Hi cpad. Yep…. countdown is on.
Final rally in Iowa with the Prez, Michelle, and Springsteen.

Awesome. I caught some of it on T.V.
I missed it.
I read that the President was very emotional… something we don’t often see.
Good Evening, Realm!
So, I hear Fox has called it for Obama – did they declare Fox Studios a Superfund Cleanup site yet? 😀
Hi RF.
I will love it if Adelson and the Koch crooks lose all that money.
I saw a post on HP the other night, ” Sheldon is the biggest trick in history!”
The money that was spend is obscene – I just hope everybody got paid, the losing campaign has a history of stiffing the vendors…
Great post.
They’ve tried turning elections into auctions.
We need election reform in the worst way.
Yes – we run elections in many states here worse than in 3rd world countries.
At least let the UN observers come in to monitor – of course, Texas would deport them to Mexico…
I am so grateful for those monitors.
I suspect Obama will have lots of lawyers on the ground, as well.
He’s more savvy than he’s given credit.
I agree.
Dixville Notch is headed for the Supreme Court:
5 Obama
5 Romney
RECOUNT!!
LOL.
heh 🙂
hah!
Hey, Orcas.
I cannot wait until I never again have to see Guiliani, Gingrich and McCain open their ugly little caviar holes. They’ve been annoying me far more than Romney himself. He couldn’t have chosen three more wretched, amoral liars to be his surrogates. Blergh!
I’m going to enjoy their defeat.
Me too. Hey, we can have another gloat party at the Realm!
Obama will be undefeated, just like us 🙂
Gawd! I don’t think I could stand 4 more years of Boehner and Mitch either.
Oh yes – them too!
Oh, Orcas. I’m so sorry you got a big boo boo 😦
Those gouges look nasty. Do you have any polysporin to put on them?
I just washed them and put hydrogen peroxide on them.
Sorry, Orcas.
I didn’t realize you had a mishap.
Orcas- dilute the H2O2 with water, about half and half…. straight peroxide is great for first cleansing, but over time it will make healing harder, as it destroys new tissue many times. (Learned that in my medical classes) 😀
If you can find some chlorhexidine gluconate at the drugstore, it’s much better for wounds – won’t damage tissue like hydrogen peroxide. I don’t know if they sell it there, but I keep a spray bottle of it handy – it’s called Vap. Polysporin would be good to have around too. Aww….I’d give you some Curious George bandaids, but they’d be too small 🙂
I can’t think of a single Republican that is still in office that I can stomach.
Lugar was bearable and the Repubs got rid of him.
Jon Huntsman was the only one I’ve seen in ages that I could like and respect, despite differing views.
Agreed.
They are all utterly loathsome to me. UGH!
x2.
Well guys, it looks like I’ll be getting up earlier than I had planned.
Good luck to all of us.
Here’s to peace, love, and no hanging chads.
Good night.
Goodnight, hon. I second that. Hugs.
Good night, tg – knock ’em dead tomorrow! GOTV!!
Peace and love to you.
I’m gonna bail too, Sis. Thank you again, so much, for all your encouragement and advice through the quilt megillah! HUGS!
Okay, Sis, sweetest dreams to you.
It was my pleasure, I’m so happy you got it finished – again, it’s gorgeous! HUGS!
Peace to you, sweetie.
Goodnight MsB – I’m about ready to hit the sack myself.
Best luck to ALL of us tomorrow!
Peace to you.
Niterz TG – good luck tomorrow!!
Peace to you!
Regarding the vote from Dixville Notch…the other New Hampshire town with midnight voting- the slightly more populous (32 voters) Hart’s Location- swung towards Obama tonight- 23 Obama, 9 Romney.
Ha!
Yes, luck indeed. I think the whole world depends on Obama winning. Peace- g’nite.
morning

Ha! No doubt! Hiya, Poco, what’s up?
not a lot just sipping the morning coffee and psyching myself up for the day. got to leave for work in a bit, long day of surgery and diabetic clinics. How are you?
Getting ready to hit the shower and crash – I’ll have (hopefully) a long day getting out the vote!
enjoy it Class 😀
LOL! I know a few office mates like that!
Hi Poco – I”m up later than planned, sorting through photos and fun stuff. How’s things?
